Hey arsenal fan here. I'll be coming down for the preseason tournament and my sense of direction outside london...actually even within london is terrible. Just wanted to know how to get to your stadium from the station and how long does it take etc. Thanks in advance.
Follow the crowd. You just thought town then across a busy road. Normally a lot of people walk from the station so you won't be alone
Yes, It's about a 15 minute walk. So not as easy as ashburton Grove, but still pretty close. Although i'm not sure how much of a 'crowd' you'll have to follow, and i once tried to find a stadium by following football shirts and ended up wandering around a shopping centre for 15 minutes...
And for some proper directions other than following one or two others who don't know where to go, here's fail-safe guide : Whichever exit you come out of the railway station, look for the Civic Centre clock tower, and head up the hill towards that. Once you get there, Civic Centre Rd runs to the right, alongside it as you walk. Follow this road into New Road, and then keep on until it flows into Northam Road. After a 20 minute walk, since your exit from the station, you'll see Britannia Road on the right. Follow that. Certainly by now you won't be able to miss St Mary's stadium. According to Google Maps, the whole journey is 25 minutes on foot.
thanks thats really helpful! As for 'please stay away from our players' request i doubt arsene wenger will pay much attention to what i'll say though going by all reports it seems its chelsea who have their eyes set on shaw. If arsenal were interested in one of shaw, chambers or prowse though i would imagine it would be chambers though i sincerely doubt we are interested in any of them for once especially a midfielder. In any case hope you keep hold of them. I was personally hoping to see some of our young guns on show especially serge gnabry though i imagine it may be too early for him...shame! though we have a trialist by the name of niang m'baye who may play.
Mbaye Niang, a hell of a prospect, half of Europe has been after him for a while. If you get him that's a great signing.
i hope he is...should be something considering we already have afobe and campbell who are of a similar age and good prospects too.
Many years ago after a Newcastle match at St mary's I remember walking along Empress Road to get back to my car in the pouring rain when two Newcastle fans approached me and asked me the way to the station as they had to get to London. They had come out of the stadium and followed the crowds. Never a good policy. Rather than try to explain the way to them I gave them a lift to what was then known as Southampton Parkway.
