Was just thinking about Diouf. Do you think the danger of us signing him has passed? He's a freebie, so the takeover can't have held up his signature. We've signed 2 other freebies now, and Diouf 'always wanted to play for Leeds' (yeah, right!), so no obstacles there then. You would think there would have been an announcement by now, surely? Can I uncross my fingers, toes, eyes etc? Anyone got their ear close to the ground?
Morning Jock. I'd keep them crossed if I were you just in case disaster strikes & Warnock does offer him a spot. Don't get me wrong, a full & firing Diouf is a class act, especially at this level. Its just that he is a nasty piece of work. Bad tackles are one thing, but spitting at fellow professionals? No, I'd rather he went elsewhere.
Diouf is a **** and I don't want him, he can **** right off. Also I don't see the need for his style of play at leeds anyway, need someone to compete with Becchio mainly for upfront We should sign George Boyd on a free for that left side. Or has he gone somewhere else yet?
I really hope he does sign as much of a **** as he is, he would give us that extra something up front, I agree spitting is bang out of order, but I would still take him he is a class act.
We should jump on that I think. Someone who adds some creativity to the side in a position we need to strengthen. Not necessarily to be first choice but to add some competition as he can play a few different positions including the 'Howson' behind the striker. Wouldn't be mega expensive wages wise either considering he was playing League 1 the season before the one that just ended
Fair point Strach. But as an ex semi pro myself who received a career ending injury, that I can take. BuI think I would have had a very lengthy ban had anyone actually spat at me on a football pitch. I agree he's a clas act. But spitting is just horrible. We've still got hopefully a fullyfit & firing Somma to come back as well. We'll see.
I wouldn't take Diouf or Boyd. Diouf for obvious reasons but Boyd also is one of the most overrated players in the league, a poor man's Snodgrass who's never really delivered above League 1.
I dont know, I think he is in a crap Peterborough team and would do better with better players around him, as I say not necessarily for a starting place because he has to earn that the same as everyone else but would be another creative player to have and that can only be a good thing for me
S'orite when the takeover happens on july 1st we'll sign gradel and all live happily ever after without diouf
