Apparently he had a great match today in ACON 3rd place play-off!

Can't wait for him back, exciting and Buzsaky was awful.

Don't worry, if he's not superman on his first performance there are plenty on here who will cut him down to size without the aid of kryponite.

Yeh, strange how Buz was so good against Wigan, yet hardly noticeable against the scum, and bad today!

Watched the match in Arabic so obviously did not understand much of the commentary. He looked OK. Very very mobile. Not as physically big as i thought he was.

Any improvement in midfield would be appreciated. Barton woeful Buz blows hot and cold. Really missing Faurlin shows how important he is to us.

Because Wigan were so poor it made any player look good! Even Connolly would have looked good against them!

He can take Barton's place straight away. Our 'Captain' has been woeful for many games now.

Joey Barton was our best midfield player yesterday by a mile.

I disagree. As central midfielder his pass completion rate was shocking. He put our defence under too much pressure with his wayward passing and resultant inability / unwillingness to track back and assist. Not the example to set as Captain. Anyone see Paul Scholes control the tempo of the United game yesterday?

It is looking as though Buzz's performance against Wigan was a bit of a one-off and gave us false hope that he had returned to his former glories!

I'm one of Barton's biggest critics, but to compare him to Scholes, one of the greatest English midfielders of the modern game, is a little silly imo.

I'm not comparing Barton directly with Scholes. Scholes' simple passing is something our Joey might want to look to to become more effective. At the moment he gives away far too many crucial balls.

1968! Did you see the game yesterday, and the running stats? He topped ours by a mile in a table dominated by Bb. Barton was tracking back, assisting, box to box. Problem was Barton was the only one in CM doing it, Buz wasn't. Also his passing after a poor start was good.

What we are missing is Faurlin's presence and the way he uses simple passes to initiate attacking moves, he rarely wastes passes and is always moving into space to receive it...

Yeh we miss Ale bad, but nothing we can do with that now except hope Diakite can fill a big part of the whole Ale left. Buz and Derry struggle there.

I thought Joey said that he was glad that we finally have a manager in MH who knows what he's doing?

.....but when JB got the chance to play the simple ball in a good position, on too many occasions he went for the more difficult option and put us straight back under pressure again.

Barton is miles behind Paul Scholes.
