Anyone know what's happened to him? Without question Arsenals best performance was that away win at Liverpool...and Diaby was the star. That was the best I felt about the team for at least a couple of seasons.

We desperately need a player like him...preferably not made out of glass.

I guess we're waiting for that one injury-free season when he does well. You know, the season before he moves to United or Barca.. and ****s on the club that kept faith in him all those years.

Well Diaby returned to training on Thursday but i wouldn't expect to see him get any game time for at least another couple of weeks. I think we will be very careful how we use him now.

If we can geth im to a level where he can play a game a week i'll be very happy. I still think he could have a part to play in how our season pans out!

Agree , we need a player like him. Not sure we need him though.

Just think about it we count of DIABY to come back and improve the team. <doh> I can not believe we have fallen that deep.

Diaby is a fantastic player, no shame in him improving the team when he returns from injury.

A fit Diaby would make a massive difference to our team .Imagine how good this guy could have been had he had a prolonged run in the team.

This is the main reason I want us to go after M'Vila, he's technically superb but also he's big, powerful and dynamic. We need a player like that in midfield.

I reckon a fully fit and on form Diaby could walk into any midfield in the league. Trouble is we're probably never going to see him go more than 10 consecutive games without injury.

Anyone who doesn't think diaby is a top class player is a fool, and yeh he restarted training on thursday, i am hopeful that he will maybe play a part in either the man city or chelsea game we have coming up.

Diaby is 26 and should be at his peak about now. As it is I have lost patience with him and cant help but wonder ifg we would be better off just giving him away and saving the money on his wages and medical bills. Sods law though, he would probably be brilliant for whoever he went to and not get injured again.

Diaby has scored 20 goals in his entire career, since 2004. Plus and excellent header he scored agains us when we played ManUnited. he had a good run of games in 07-08, 08-09 and 09-10 - about 30-40 games a season. And that was when he was regared our worst midfielder by many fans. Now the more time he spends on the medical table the better he is. This year he is a saviour. That's because he had 2 good games. Never mind, he will come back, and we will see the old Diaby aka Disaster Waiting To Happen. I have no doubts about it, because unlike some fans I remember him well.

If we can keep him fit, he'll be really useful player to have going into the second half of the season.

I remember him dominating City and Pool and being excellent before his injury.

That is the Diaby I remember, but even I have admitted he seems to have improved. I think he has a bit more awareness of whats going on around him so passes a bit more rather than make runs into a group of defenders who tackle him and then get booked when he tries to win it back.

Agree, there were two or three passes he would never be able to make a couple of years ago. He used to be completely unaware of what was going on around him, I aso noticed that surprisingly he could see some oportunities for a good pass. Three of four years ago he would be completely lost in our quick passing game. Anyway, a couple of games is not enough. But I would be more than happy though if he proves me wrong. That would really be like a new signing.

Diaby's performance against Liverpool was the best performance by any Arsenal player this season. It was the complete midfield performance, he completely owned the likes of Gerrard and Joe Allen. It's performances like that which get me in two minds about him. There is his talent and then there is the injury issue, it would be just our luck if we sold him and he goes to another club and and manages to actually stay fit.

Even if diaby was only playing 5 - 10 games a season he would still be earning his wages more than a lot of other players at the club, keep him I say.

On current form Arteta and Cazorla need time on the bench. Bring in Diaby and Rosicky for them.

You know that guardian article was written back on September 22nd right? Precisely 7 days before he got injured against Chelsea and has since been out for another 3 1/2 months.

22.9.12 - "Now 26, it is a chance he is desperate to seize. He feels in good shape. He feels strong."

29.9.12 - "The home side's rhythm had not been helped by the early loss of Abou Diaby with a hip injury" <doh>
