I see the Fascist has lost his job at Sunderland......what a nutter he has turned out to be........although he did quite well at Swindon.
Despite his sometimes bizarre behaviour and apparent fascist leanings, I always think people show their true character in moments of stress when they don't have time to think things through. I remember De Canio catching the ball in the 6 yard box when the opposition keeper was down injured, even though the guy was plainly cheating. Somewhere in there is a gentleman and a scholar....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWdf5ZLbtYo
You cannot stand in front of the home support with your chest puffed out and turn away sarcastically clapping them after a 3 - 0 defeat and expect to be loved. You cannot be a dictator to your staff and expect them to bust a gut for you. That's irrespective of how much that staff gets paid. The bloke is an arrogant pig and it comes as no surprise to me that he has been asked to leave the building. He was mostly an arrogant pig when he was a player as well even if he did do some "gentlemanly" things sometimes. Leopards don't change spots.
He was a good player tho!!! But it comes as no surprise about the sacking, bit early in the season i thought!!
I'm afraid I view the strong minded who don't kowtow to the fans and the overpaid players as a benign influence in football.......
Aside his dubious political views I like the guys approach to these over paid, snot nosed little brats that call themselves pro footballers. Someone needs to tell them that pro stands for PROFESSIONAL. Not laughing or sarcy comments on twitter when your team losses and you haven´t been picked, not rolling in cash on casino floors or partying until 3am a couple of days before the match. What happens when someone actually challenges these primadonnas they go crying to the PFA who back them....bloody pathetic. His tune maybe a bit off but the lyrics are spot on IMHO. Too much player power by far at the mo.
Absolutely and not arguing with that. Trouble is you get sacked for saying something don't you so hence the "I'm not surprised". Didn't say he was wrong to do it but your P45 is bound to be the result. Still think he's as arrogant as the people he is criticising though.
Yes as I said good lyrics but bad tune although it seems any manager in the Prem with any backbone is considered too harsh. Just reading a little more on the players revolt and one of the complaints was he banned mayonnaise and ketchup from the club canteen. That evil and heartless barsteward how could he expect those poor wittle didums to go without their ketchup. I mean its not like they are getting payed 20k plus a week to under go such trauma ohhh hang on...........
It's so unsophisticated using ketchup in the first place mexijan. Everyone with taste knows it's brown sauce or nothing on a bacon butty. I've changed my mind and I'm on Di Canio's side now.
They aspire to be Joe but fall way short of that. Ketchup I could possibly, albeit grudgingly, accept but mayonnaise, mayo..bloody..naise need to get the pansies down pit on a 26 hour shift, 8 days a week then see how they like mayo..poncy..naise. Whats next croissants with jamon seranno NO NO NO. Bacon, bap, HP (we was posh) and get out and break some legs...simples.
Makes you wonder what they would put on an Oggie. I do like salad cream though especially in a sandwich with nothing else in it but salad cream of course. That was in my younger days of course after a night out and coming in in the wee small hours and finding nothing else in the cupboard. I mean, you can't be worse for wear and not eat before sleep can you.
Can´t fault your logic, goes without saying A healthy life style is essential not just for body but also a sound mind. That is why there were so many great Greek philosophers... kebabs perfect food for soaking up the booze and keeping you fit and smart
I did jump to the conclusion that the ban on table sauces had more to do with sporting dietary discipline than foodie horror at common mass market brands. The ban on ice in coke I was puzzled by. Sugar laden coke is ok but frozen water isn't? And by the way, the ideal accompaniment to a pasty, cold or otherwise, is a home made pickled onion.
Thanks NDG was already missing my pasties but now I can add pickled onions to the list as well The ice one had me scratching my head too, so its OK to jump into a bath full of it (no it bloody isn´t btw) but bad to drink it?
We will be starting to lay pickles in for Christmas shortly Mexijan. It's a family tradition: my grandfather used to grow shallots and would bring an old style sweet jar (a foot high I suppose) around when the grandparents arrived to stay on Christmas Eve. Ideal with turkey leftovers and some salad as well as pasties. For a small fee perhaps I could send you a jar. I have a peeling assistant although for some reason she gets upset when they are referred to as "my" pickles. I add the spice and vinegar after all.
