Best you've been to in terms of atmosphere?

St James Park vs Roker vs Stadium of Light, which is the best ground for atmosphere?

Do you think your derby is the most heated/passionate?

Why do you always play both in stripes? I'm colour blind and it's a night mare on tele to watch.

Any derby in the world you'd love to go to watch as a neutral?

The best I can recall is the first derby at the SoL where we came back from 2 down to draw 2-2..That was a cracking atmosphere..

The 1990 semi final 1st leg was great at Roker park, we got that penalty in the last minute and wow !, but it was saved. I would say the stadium of light and all about the same, 3-0 this season was my favourite. The Turkish and south American derbies are brilliant.
Sunderland vs Newcastle is a sort of tribal match for the supporters a hatred which goes back about 50 years ago.
We play in red and white, Newcastle black and white but we once played an f a cup game in their borrowed strip !.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Inter Milan vs Milan, Celtic vs Rangers. The best atmosphere ever was in 1973 Wembley and again 1985 Wembley I was there and the noise was incredible, about 3 times louder than any home derby match.

Old firm is the noisiest I've been to. Seen ours, yours and a Wimbledon v palace in the 80's as well as Celtic v Rangers. Iours is second noisiest although I saw the Manchester derby before city were rich and they were little better than us. May be different now

Pub right next to roker park was called the Derby. It was ok then.

Since moving to the SOL that place has gone pretty ****e. More of an eatery place but still frequented by some nuggets.

Old Firm at Ibrox was very noisy and seemed to be full of hatred at the time, i was only 14 like.

It is different, it's worse. They have the most fair weather fans in the league which is ironic since that's all they've been telling us for the best part of 30 years. Atmosphere-wise ours is a poor derby, especially at the Emptyhad, but luckily we have the scousers to hate as well, and for all the hate I can credit them with putting on a good show when we clash.

Any lower division derbies? I've been to Lincoln vs Grimsby and that got way out of hand.

Chesterfield/Mansfield is a good lower league one. Fuelled by lots of miner's strike feeling I'm led to believe.

Ours is the best one I've been to but I'd love to see Boca Juniors/River Plate or Hajduk Split/Dinamo Zagreb.

I must admit I was thinking that would have a few votes for best in the UK.

Then you look at Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce and it makes the UK look like play group.

Turkish footy fans will be gutted when they join the EU and get told they aren't allowed to do all that stuff at football matches anymore.

Lol, aye, never thought of that.
I was just going off ones I've been to like.
Comm's right like - West Ham - Millwall can become a bit boisterous.

The Cliff. You are a minute walk from me ma's house. Should pop in and tell her that her son is a ****. She'll probably agree.

Only been to ours and the Darlo vs Hartlepool. In ground atmosphere the Sunderland Newcastle takes it, but in terms of putting a whole town centre on edge, the violence, the pure hatred. It's Darlo Pools all day long.
