Retiring means he can't cheat any more; must be a bummer.

One of my friends hanged himself due to depression. He loved a laugh and would appreciate the humour. He ran a subversive work magazine that was ruthlessly ascerbic and close to the bone. Having a mental illness doesn't mean you can't see the difference between fun, and insensitivity, and it's patronising to presume so...

There is nothing funny about being ill, or the horrible problem that mental illness is invisible. Horse jokes don't make light of the issue, they just jump to the fact that friends and social engagement are important in making sure you aren't saddled with loneliness.

depression isnt an illness. Being an illness denotes that there is a cure.
To me it is more of a condition.

You aren't a doctor, are you. So whatever it is to you is of **** all relevance.

It's an illness. You can make up some non definition if you enjoy such indulgent frivolity, alone, at home. Why not try and build a play doh model of it while you are at it, unless you have eaten it all again?

Holding it back and throwing the race. Also not being in a fit state himself due to drugs.

I have had depression for more than 5 years and believe me it has got **** all to do with losing a loved one, on the other hand living with a loved one for over 34 years is probably why I got it....

He cheated because there was a lot of evidence to suggest he was guilty of conspiring to fraud through a betting scam. The case fell apart, but the mud still sticks. He was also found guilty of taking illegal substances and subsequently banned.

Again, that thing about you logging on...

Not surprised Patty is having a go at depression, considering he happily had a go at people with cancer a while back.

I've not suffered with depression, but I do suffer with anxiety.

It's started just before Christmas being edgy about daft things. Like being late for work and not wanting to talk to people.

The last couple of months have been quite bad. It got to a point where I had to have a argument with myself in a morning to get up and go to work.

I've had people question why I'm so quiet at work.

I'm on tablets that ease the anxiety, but they turn you into a zombie.

I really wouldn't wish mental health illness on my worse enemy.

I hope you get it sorted if that is possible or is it just learning how to manage it? Best of luck anyway fella. My son can be like that. He is fine one minute and the next he has to get out of a room, even if not crowded.

I myself, as well as people close to me, have had problems for years along the lines of the subject matter and beyond, but I would rather keep the details a private matter from certain users/****s on this forum.

Get all the help you can find, counselling, therapists, whatever. The drugs might mask the symptoms but they don't address the cause. Good luck.

Apparently he's being well supported by his friends and 'neigh'bours.
Seriously though it seems like he's get the professional help he needs.
