With us not signing a striker this is the perfect time to try and get Dembele to sign a new contract, it was reported that his issue was lack of game time but right one he has started the last four games and with Smith out for another month he's got another 6 or 7 at least. If I was Kit I would take him to one side and say something along the lines of " we did enquire about Hooper but Norwich wanted a large loan fee so I told them to forget I'm happy with yourself and Woodrow and believe you can do the job for me this season, the problem I ve got is you are just ahead of Cauley at the moment and have the shirt but how can I justify to Woodrow leaving him out for a player running down the last year of his contract? I guarantee your going to get plenty of playing time this season how about talking about a new deal again??"
Agree. And not wishing to hijack the thread, getting Hyndman to do the same would be the icing on the cake.
I would love them both to sign but reading between the lines it seems Hyndmand's mind is made up where as it sounds like Dembele may be persuaded still
