... if this is true and we have signed him, the most noticeable thing is that he has chosen to cast his lot with us rather than with Arsenal or Liverpool .. another significant step forwards for our club ... he seems to be a real talent ...

Sounds like a good signing, though it looks like he'll be loaned back to Birmingham, so maybe one for the future more than now. Could still do with more on the wings, Mahrez and Dyer were very poor today.

Would be great to bring off the bench and maybe... just maybe... make a wide position his own.

I'd be surprised if he isn't instantly loaned back to Brum, its not a position that we are understocked in and it will continue to help his development.

My guess as to why hes chosen us is that we're the level of club that will give him opportunity, rather than the higher up clubs that will look to replace him almost instantly with some foreign name. Also might help that we are fairly close to brum, may not want to uproot too far away from family.

Just read Liverpool have first refusal. Wonder if he comes if that would help Chilwell stay. Same age and in the England set up.

If they do then you would think they would take it up before he had a medical with us - seems like the deal is practically done.

Good thing is there is no pressure on him to hit the ground running. We have Schlupp to come back soon and with Mahrez, Dyer and Albrighton, he will get time to settle and adjust

    Top signing though

Getting an English player so coveted for that price is fantastic.

The club is building a great base of young talent. Looking exciting for the future.
