It feels just like 5 years ago. Owners who can't run the club at a profit and want to sell up; rumours of a wonderful take-over (Zabeel), a manager with no money to spend, well-respected at a personal level but copping the flak and behaving with dignity under difficult circumstances, a fight against relegation to L1, a dodgy pitch. With Parky there were actual fights breaking out between fans, we haven't got to that stage, YET.
It could go further. as well. We could end up in L! with new owners, an untried manager trying to build a squad on the fee received for an outstanding Academy product (Cousins), and our previous manager going to another club and proving that he is a very good manager.

Do you think Parkinson is a very good manager now then?

Such is the life of being a Charlton supporter. I enjoy the ups and downs. I remember in the late 80s going away every fortnight to grounds like Anfield and Highbury. You travelled actually knowing you were going to lose. I felt the same way at our last two away games v QPR and Reading...I had already accepted that we would not score and would lose. The difference now is that we are losing to crud. Reading were easily vulnerable for at least one point last night.

The Donny result put some lipstick on the pig for a day or two, but after a good old roll around in the mud, the old porker is back to looking and smelling like its old self again <nahnah>

I always rated him, he stopped the rot, if it wasn't for his tenure we'd be in the same situation as Luton by now in my opinion. And then he took bradford to Wembley AND then got them promoted, not too shabby.

He's proved himself. He also showed his loyalty by staying with Bradford when he could have moved to a bigger club.

Yep, he has done well. A very nice man and a hard working servant of CAFC, but the football was honking in the end (not necessarily his own fault) and he needed to go for his own sake and that of the club.

    Deja vu, indeed.

Aint that the truth - but Lomas is 1 point better than Powell - which means they are both **** <ok>

Difference is TC that Lomas has had some money to build a team (Bailey for instance) whereas CP has had his playing budget cut!

We still have a better squad than Millwall, though. Yet they are ahead of us, with a lemon of a manager in charge.

    Sad.

Think it's actually Déjà-Moo i.e. The feeling that you've come across this bullshit somewhere before.........scarily reminiscent of 5 years ago but with a slightly less odious feel to it.
