According to physioroom (was looking at Newcastle injury list) it had Defoe on there as a muscle injury from Saturday. This just made up? It doesn't mention Watmore anywhere, just got the wrong name?
I'd read he twinged his hammy slightly towards the end of the game, didn't notice it but there was a few bits and bobs afterwards. The hope was it was just a little strain and would be fine with a day or two's rest, but you can never tell with those sorts of injuries. Heard nothing since.
Waiting for injury news on Defoe, Watmore, Lens and Jones. **** Jones, the other lads can't be worse. But the other three we need fit and available.
http://www.safc.com/news/team-news/...=newsteam_news2016februarybig_sam_on_injuries Doesnt mention Defoe. But explains Borini (illness - which we knew) and Kaboul's abscence (twisted his ankle in Friday's training). so hopefully in the next game we could line up like this Pickford (Mannone's distributions was ****ing awful against liverpool) Jones, Kone, O'shea, PvA Kirchoff, M'villa AJ, Kazarhi, Borini Defoe and still have a bench that looks like this Mannone, Yedlin, Kaboul, Catts, N'doye, Lens, Honeyman or Agnew* *I dont see the point in putting Rodwell or Toi or the bench Which is much better than Saturdays squad, where the bench included Toi, Rodwell and Brown
Only thing with that is that AJ's trial starts this Wednesday - not sure where his head will be! Also - what bout O'Shea to right back and Kaboul in the middle with Kone? Certainly can;t be worse than Jones playing there and I know he is capable defensively - may not be good going forward but it is a definite option IMO You;ve said exactly what I was talking to my mate about with the position of Khazri too - in the middle instead of Cattermole - he likes a tackle and is very quick, direct and can pass - but that front 3 behind defoe can all move into any of the three positions which would make it a nightmare for defenders (*I don't either)
O'shea at RB against Martial ? He'll get skinned and left for dead imo. At least Jones/Yedlin will be able to keep pace with him. In fact, thinking about it I would start Yedlin. Jones hasn't been offering much going forward either, can't beat the 1st man with his crosses.
Would get skinned for pace but reads the game well though - that's all I was thinking about - defensively JOS is a far better option than the other 2 - Yesh he's not quick (in the way that an Oil tanker isn;t quick!) but he knows the game better - Jones has been pretty poor recently - be interesting to see what happens if he's not fit for Saturday. Martial looks a cracking player - just hope Kone "yaya's" him early on! But not sure if that stops him playing (talking about a hard fair tackly @Typical_Wazza not just kicking him up in the air!)
I think I know what you mean but the term "gets away with it" insinuates that he has done something wrong! Hope he does get found not guilty - he is important to us as a player and is obviously quality on the ball - even if he's a little lazy from time to time
My son in law is a copper snd he reckons on the evidence, they've got him 'bang to rights' but went on to say with the brief he's got, he'll probably get off with it.
Heh I was aware that as I'm from the other side this could come across as a wind up but was just genuinely interested as I hadn't heard anything about a Defoe tweak and given his importance to you guys was surprised (if it were true) that no-one had mentioned it. Hope for your sake he's fine... and Jones is crocked.
No . . . . I didn't reply to a wind-up My reply was (my idea of) humour Obviously unsuccessfully so I wasn't picking on you . . . . I was trying to have a laugh with you
Whoever is marking AM will have a big job on his hands. We've got two or three pulling the strings now, Carrick, Mata, Martial. Lots of homework this week
The talent is there it's just whether it clicks. Had plenty of talent since Ferguson left but the formula doesn't feel consistently correct, I think most teams are better off making sure they've got their own game sorted and saying to themselves that if Man Utd have a day where they perform where they can then it's probably curtains but that isn't as often as it used to be so every team has a chance.
Homework 1: Send someone in disguise to cause minor injury to Carrick, Mata and Martial so they miss the game. (only a small bruising as we don;t want them to miss the rest of the season) Homework 2: Get someone's mother (Wes Borwn's is best as she'll be in the right age bracket) to visit rooney's hotel room late on Friday to distract him from the game and wear him out prior to Saturday's early kick off Homework 3 Disguise voice as Louis Van Gaal and phone Chris Smalling on Thursday to tell him he's not part of your plans for Saturday. Easy see...
