Colo and Saylor look Immense at the moment and we dont look like conceding a goal.

The thing is Tiote and Cabaye break up a lot so nothing is coming through the middle. I can see us having a lot of clean sheets this season and we are one or two pieces short of a complete jigsaw.

If we can get a LB and striker I would be delighted. Shame we missed out on Long.

Against Arsenal we didnt play all that well but they created very little and Sunderland only had 5 shots on target (we had 10)

I am one happy fecking magpie atm.

Going to put Krul in my dream team next week. Cheap and plenty of clean sheets!

If we can keep Taylor fit we'll have a brilliant CB pairing. Full backs are still a concern though.

If by defence you mean centrebacks then yes

On todays performance we havent got a single decent fullback at the club

i think we have looked solid, but raylor at LB is still a weakness, get a good left back in and a striker and our squad is looking canny!!!

Yer Fullbacks are an issue but I fully expect this to be sorted by the end of August. Colo looks like he has learned from his experience of relegation and he looks the real deal.

Krul played well today. His save was quality and his distribution is getting better. Saylor fit and playing well and he could end up in the England team by the end of this season!

Also set pieces we look great too!

Am i the only one thinking we might be a cb light? one long term injury to willo/ saylor/ collo and maybe a short term one or a suspension and we only got kadar left who's unproven and seemingly injury prone. campbell only played a couple of games at cb (and i think perch might have played 1) but it's useful in the cups to rest first team players. i guess if we get this situ chap in then that boosts the numbers a but. No problem with the quality of cbs, just the quantity. on the flip side, if we bring a striker in i think we can let one go - for me it would be mcloven who i like but i don't think is good enough. i'd rather keep ranger because he's quicker and younger. I also wouldn't mind us moving a cm on - for me smith due to his wages - leaving us with gosling, guthrie, vuckic, abeid ect to cover.

I wouldnt mind us just using Kadar as number 4 CB, but he doesnt have a squad number and didnt play any pre season friendlies, not even for the reserves. WTF has happened to the lad?

I dunno Smudger, but then we are defo a cb light. You need 4 first team squad cbs and then at least 1 youngster pushing to break through just in case/to be on the bench when 2 cbs are out (which happens more than people think - as I say one injury and one suspension or 2 injuries is very imaginable)

Not with Crapello in charge. Won't even consider either north east team's players

I'm guessing Pardew doesn't rate Kadar and wants Situ as 4th choice.

Kadar always seems to be injured. I wouldn't want to rely on him should one of the other CBs be out.

With our nice new (expensive?) underpitch heating there shouldn't
really be any more training injuries over the winter!

When would Raylor get a look in on the pitch when you may need
a calm head for a free kick! lol
