I doubt he'll be the next Gareth Bale as a left-back!

Its an area we need cover in, but don't think he will make it near the first team for a while. Would only be for the development squad atm.

    Afternoon lads,

As a Cardiff fan, Declan doesn't fill me with confidence.. Given, he's young but he's not there yet by a long shot. We aren't exactly setting the Championship alight currently and he isn't even making our 1st team.

"The next Bale" is a ridiculous statement. Maybe though under the likes of a manager like Nigel he may do well. Who knows.

All the best for the season guys, great to see you holding your own <ok>

    What do you mean?

Gareth Bale started out as a left-back...

Mind you, the author of the article probably saw he was left-footed and Welsh... And automatically assumed he'll be the next Gareth Bale!

At right back we have Ritchie De Laet who potentially hold the right back slot for the next few years

At left back albeit he has been nothing short of superb this season Paul Konchesky can't be our left back next season at least not first choice so we do need a new long term left back

Jeff Schlupp appears to have stepped up to replace Lloyd Dyer but should anything happen to Konch then Schlupp will go straight to left back unless Danny Simpson is any good there.

We was rumoured to be after Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich but he moved to West Ham for an amount not far off what we paid for Leo Ulloa so you can see why Nigel didn't pursue his interest in him

Fits the Pearson bill, but don't expect him to get anywhere near the top half of the prem in the future if hes not making Cardiffs team at the moment. Bale at 19 was already at Spurs.

Then again, you never know, maybe a new manager will have some faith in him, unless they get Sven as their next manager.

Its like saying that Moore is going to be the next Tony Adams or Bobby Moore.

Spurs deemed Gareth Bale surplus to requirements at one stage and Forest wanted him for 1.5M

You should have gone for Robertson.

Robertson does look pretty good, to be fair. I am always a little wary about buying from Scotland though- we've had some right stinkers from there before!

My apologies, my tender years mean I do not remember such players!
