What the **** are we doing? Why do we sleepwalk into this nonsense? An owner who couldn't give a toss, players and a manager who would crawl over broken glass for a new pay cheque, football itself is all about subscriptions and viewers, advertising revenue and all the while the working man, the guy who made it what it is, is lost under the mountain of cash. I remember days of players like Cole, Beardo, Ginola, Ferdinand and so on desperate to play, to be part of something. We took cavalier football on and loved it, albeit for only a few years. But what are we doing now? What is anyone doing now? Maybe my dreams are set too high and football supporting is really about muddling through mediocrity for a snippet of fun. Seems like an insane way to be. Dear life come and pick me up, dear life I think the button's stuck, dear life I think it's gone too far, dear life please lower the bar, lower than the stars... Dear life, I'm holding on. How long must I wait before the thrill is gone?
For supporters of most teams it is to be honest. I don't know why you and others let it bother yourselves so much, and to be fair the worst case scenario seems to be assumed at every turn in some kind of sick competition at who can be the most outraged or miserable fan in the stadium/forum. I'd like things to be better but I was under no illusions this season would be a slog; I don't have a feeling of entitlement to entertaining football like some fans (because, frankly, the vast majority of football is not that entertaining anyway) and WE ARE ONLY TWO GAMES INTO THE SEASON so give it a bit of time. The only chance of getting anywhere near where we were in the late 90s is to claw our way up season by season so let's hope they just get on with it - it is out of hands.
i try not to take serious anymore .... 1 football is fooked . 5 main clubs ( all the best players want to go there all the time ) players are untouchable ( gods ) filled with greed . we have no chance of challenging anymore ..it is all about survival all the time ... owner that will not budge on anything . and just to loyal of fans that will not do anything about it ... just give mr ashley and football what it deserves .. a nice 12 thousand attendance each week see if the ****s like that .... football has been put back of the line in my life .. sad , but what is the point ... you can not compete on a anywhere near level ground , keep it for me ... these top 5 clubs are killing the game ..
That would not make the slightest bit of difference to Mike Ashley. He would barely notice the difference in income. It would only hurt the team.
Won't happen at all - maybe it will dip to 40000. This would still hurt us more than MA as he won't be able to sell it.
For me the key has to be in the youth. Get the academy working properly and play them in the league. You have to get the mix right with a few clever imports that will connect with the fan base of course but we need to be brave and give the kids a chance.
This! What is the point of having a fantastic prospect goal keeper that has now been called up for u21's if he is getting no game time? He is already better than our other goal keepers. We send players out on loan - if they do well there they still don't get a game here.
The thing is Ashley apparently wants to sell.................. but then prices the club so high that nobody is willing to buy. Why not just get your 'stake' back out and **** off!! Surely the free advertising cant be worth this much grief?? Its not even saving him money....... just rolls of wallpaper.
