Absolutely agree with Peter Taylor; http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent/sport/gills-deals-non-negotiable-17366/? If the deal is reasonable then i fully support the manager's comments “The deals are what they are. We haven’t put offers down there to increase them.” My simplistic take on it is you either want to play for the badge or you don't. Yes, we all have families to support and have to look to the future, but we are what we are, we are not a rich club and i would not want us to be. I've never been one for the vast sums of money floating around in football, certainly at the top level. But i pretty much assume/guess even at League One level that players probably earn more than me and many other supporters that turn up to Priestfield and other grounds. So my simple take on it is either sign up or ship out, passion is what it is about for me regardless of who you are or what you think your worth. What price loyalty?
Loyalty is for the fans brb, players are just looking to earn a crust; you can't blame them for wanting the best deal available
If the deal is reasonable then yes non negotiable but what is a good deal? If we do sign anyone decent we will have to offer a good deal, or we will be dropping down to league 2
We need to be signing players that will be starting for us not warming the bench. I think offering the players that would not be considered in the first five names on the team sheet lower terms is correct. We stayed up, consolidation shouldn't be the ultimate aim for next season.
