Where is eeryone? Surely you can't be at work today? You can't possibly have gone out in this weather. Shows what this place is like without the sensible one! Guess you must all be on PASOTI or the other one <laugh>

You must remember Mrs laLa......we don't all have the same weather........today (Tues) has been quite a reasonable day.......just a little shower at present (your fault Mrs LaLa) but generally ok.

Yesterday was dry and sunny just like outside the Palace for the Concert.

Sunday of course was diabolical from 2pm onward.....cold.rain and darkish.........not surprised Prince Philip ended up in Hospital.....standing in the cold and rain for hours at his age, 91 next Sunday.

But of course Mrs laLa........bank holidays are no different to any other day for Mrs Plymborn and myself.......it took me a few days to cotton on that the last Monday in May this year wasn't a bank Holiday.

Yesterday (Mon) was the only decent weather we have had over the bank holiday weekend, what a washout!

Mrs LaLa........no Dodo's of course.......but seeing that we are a sensible free zone at present.........I'll tell you about our two Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, that we have the priviledge of seeing everyday helping themselves to peanuts and fatballs from our bird feeders.

This afternoon we had the excitement (sensible would be so bored by now) of seeing the Woodpeckers bringing their offspring to the bird feeders,he/she sat on the branch above the feeders.....whilst they kept feeding it nuts and fat.........the young Woodpecker was about the same size as the adults......but not so slim and had a definate red crown to its head........Mrs Plymborn was trying to plant flower tubs and sweep up the patio........but was trapped in the kitchen not wanting to scare the Woodpeckers away for quite awhile.

We do have so many birds using our bird feeders at present feeding their offspring......it's this damn black cat I need to watch out for......don't forget to tell beau.

Thank you Michael Fish ( when's the next hurricane ? ) You lot should try sacking your manager - and start up a silly season thread - provides for quite a bit of banter.

You should pay attention, Sensible has been off on his hols to Northern Spain by ferry with a "daytrip" to Barcelona.

That stuck in my mind as a daytrip from Santander to Barcelona is roughly equivalent to Plympton to Aberdeen. I should think he's come home a bit tired, so be gentle.

And PS yes I'm on holiday, 3 kids in the house so I'm a bit tired too. Just saw the youngest attempting to gel his hair with deodorant, I kept out of it, he's not mine.

PS2 By "not mine" I mean he's my nephew in law [is there such a thing?]. Don't want rumours to start.

Quite right notdistant, the day trip to Barcelona turned out to be Bilbao. That's the wise one otherwise known as her in doors got her places mixed up when she told be where we were going. I just pay for the trips but don't take too much notice of the places. When we got to Santander I was talking to a couple of bikers who had come out on the ferry and told me they were going to some bike race in Barcelona. Then told me it was around 450 miles away so I knew she had got her "B" mixed up. I should have left her there.

Despite the above disappointment it was a pleasant trip with plenty of sunshine. Had a day out in the Pecos Mountains and was told there were brown bears up there. Didn't see any AWAYINBC so might be an export opportunity for you Canadian types. The most ferocious animal I saw was Mrs Sensible on the ferry home when I managed to lose her and she had my name piped over the tanoy. My name sounds really sexy in a French accent.

Had a quick look on here last night and see nothing much new has happened Argyle wise whilst I was away. One signing of a player several leagues below us and the expected management team sign on is about as exciting as it gets so far.

I'm relieved Sensible, a trip to Barcelona didn't sound too relaxing to me!

I'm torn as to whether to provoke a storm by mentioning the female aptitude for maps & navigation. Perhaps we could move to the Jokes thread. I will however just recall that I remember one night when my better half had been out for a girl's night out [in MY car I should add]. She rang me at some unearthly hour to report she had become lost on the way back. She couldn't understand it as she was certainly on the right road, the M1 in this case, and it was clearly the directions I'd given her were at fault rather than herself. A couple of questions revealed she was indeed on the M1 as I'd told her. Unfortunately, despite the fact she'd made the same journey as a passenger a dozen times, she'd gone south rather than north. I rest my case. I think you are lucky you didn't end up on a day-trip to Budapest, it begins with a B which is near enough.

Barcelona in mid-summer by train (1964) just as the commuter rush starts is not a good idea after the rail journey from blighty (they don't all go on holiday in August)......you were very fortunate to not have to do that. The Cathedral was still being built in 1964 (for ever it seems)....I made the mistake of wearing shorts and couldn't go in....a pity, looked incredible....I doubt if it is finished yet.

Bilbao.....thats a foreign country from Spain isn't it.....Basque country...or have they settled their differences now.

I'm not sure who the Basques hate more. The Spanish, French or English. Not the friendliest lot I've come across. Having said that we were coming out of the bus station in Santander and a woman asked if we were English. Think she assumed because we had a Sainsbury's carrier bag. She was most friendly and turned out she was a nurse who had worked in the UK and was about the only one we found with any good English all trip. Having chatted for about 10 minutes she told us she was from Bilbao, It was about then I noticed the backpack she was carrying..........

I think the starting letter just about sums it up notdistant. Will teach me to look at the paperwork in furture. I was just trying to picture plymborn in a pair of shorts. I have this image in my head now that just won't go away.
