If you haven't heard it yet, listen to this. The interview has been edited on our OS by Rovers and missed off the parts where DC talks about the board etc, where he was very honest and damning about them and his own position.

However, even though Rovers have hidden that part of the interview, they can't hide it from BBC Radio Bristol!

    Listen from 33 mins 55 seconds.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p06sn1n1

From what DC has said here, I won't blame him if he walks away. I feel like doing so myself. He has been treated awfully by the owners. I have tried to remain patient with the new owners but after hearing this from DC, I am now very firmly in the anti board brigade. DC had the chance to further his career and join Leeds. He stayed loyal to us based on false promises from our board. He has reassurances after reassurances from this board which has now proved to be lies and more lies. DC in this interview has basically confirmed in this interview that he is only sticking around for us fans as we've been messed about for way too long and he is desperate for us to get what we deserve. Hopefully that's not relegation but with these owners, we will soon be facing the likes of Barnet again in non league.

    DC:

"After Gillingham, I wanted clarity of where we were going from the owners and I got it. Its exactly what I thought. They will try and tell me different but I cant see the new stadium or training ground being built while I am still the manager. Until people do what they say they will do, this club will yo yo between L1 and L2"

Obviously, DC doesn't believe a word that the owners say!

"I have under achieved this season as I have a mid table budget. Last 2 seasons I had a bottom 6-8 budget and over achieved both seasons. My signings this season haven't been good enough. I take the responsibility with that but it still needs that backing, pushing and facilities to move forward. People think I have a problem with the board but I don't. I just tell them as it is. I tell them the club is going backwards. We are 4th bottom on the pitch but we are going backwards because nothing is happening. Our supporters just want clarity. They will support you through thick and thin. They are the only ones performing at this football club. I think over the next 12 months there will be cuts but I have to deal with that. But the bottom line is its the highest budget I've ever had and its a mid table budget. I still have to over achieve to get into the top 6"

    Great honesty from DC.

And here is what is to come. It will get worse before it gets better. We have to move players on before we can get player in.

"Players will have to go out come January so I can get a few loans in. So there will be a few tweaks. I will have to get rid of 4 or 5 to freshen things up which aint rocket science. We need it at the top end of the pitch where yet again its been criminal. Yet again we've had more shots, more shots on target, more corners but we lose 4-0 and its deja vu."

Its very hard work being a gashead.

As I have said in previous postings DC is to honest in his answers and comments and from my point of view although I don't think he is doing himself any good he has my upmost respect for the way he is and his appreciation of us the supporters. I firmly believe if the present owners are staying on board their actions this transfer window will make or break this club in the eyes of the supporters. We are all sure we know what is going to happen or we think we do but lets judge them when the window closes.
At last Saturday's game someone said that they heard that Stephan Payne was leaving for a 100k because the club were desperate to get rid of him, fact or fiction I don't know, there are a few others I would rather see gone before him unless DC has a hat to pull a star striker out of hat

I have thought long and hard about our current predicament, and personally, I am in the camp that backs DC to somehow dig us out of this mess. I can see nothing being achieved whatsoever by replacing the best manager this club has had in recent years, nobody knows the club better, nobody understands the fan base better and I don't believe anyone else would be able to turn things around. At least now, DC knows he's got to do it without the owners help or financial backing, and personally, I would back him to do it. I hope he doesn't allow sentiment or personal pride to get in the way, and gets shot of what he has to get shot of asap in January. We don't need strikers that can't strike, defenders that can't defend or midfielders that can't win anything. Personally, we started this preseason with so much optimism, more than most seasons, and we saw it slide down the toilet week by week. Going by DC's interview, he has been hoodwinked just as much as us, and it would be poetic justice if DC, with our support, can be allowed to save the club from relegation. Judging by the lack of activity on this forum this season, I would assume that results and false promises have left most others deflated and pretty pissed off so far, so its sh** or bust from now on!!
