With the European challenge struggling to keep in touch with the Yankee boys today's pairing will be crucial for us if we are to retain the Ryder Cup this year. The pairing of the Cup so far are back out again today, Phil and Keegan, no surprise there...!!! And the pairing that we thought would do well has gone missing, Woods and Stricker, again no surprise there...!!!

For our challenge it is probably the strongest line up he could put out really. Ok, so most of em are coming off a defeat, but we have to get something back from today's matches....

    Group 1...
    Webb Simpson/Bubba Watson - 11/10... Tie - 11/2... Justin Rose/Ian Poulter - 6/5...
This is some match up going off yesterdays play. Both played well, but no pairing scored better or quicker than Bubba and Webb. Our combo just couldnt put them under pressure and to be honest i never thought they would strike down the Major winners anyway. But Poulter and Rose could trouble them and maybe give em something more to think about... The fact its Foursomes and not Fourballs means i am leaning towards us...

    Rose/Poulter to win...

    Group 2...
    Phil Mickelson/Keegan Bradley - evens... Tie - 11/2... Lee Westwood/Luke Donald - 5/4
Bradley showed us what this Ryder Cup is all about to Team USA with his fist pumping, hollowing, over excited celebrations and pure enthusiasm for his game and partner. They were unstoppable yesterday in every format of the game, tee to green. And although they wobbled for a couple of the holes at the turn last night, that was all that they did wrong for both formats. Westood looked like he had picked up the wrong putter again at times and Luke just struggled to contain the pair he is up against again today. Fascinating to see if the Yanks can keep up this relentless scoring, and i think they will...

    Mickelson/Bradley to win...

    Group 3...
    Jason Dufner/Zach Johnson - 11/10... Tie - 11/2... Nicolas Colsaerts/Sergio Garcia - 6/5
What can we say about Nicolas Colsaerts... Just superb last night, although i do wish Monty would call him by his name and not say Nicola before he launches one of his monster drives...!!! This pairing for Europe looks solid on paper and i think that the relaxed style of Colsaerts can marry well with Sergio's open play. Dufner and Johnson looked solid yesterday without really setting the world alight and they really only beat one man, Rose, as Martin Kaymer was awful yesterday.

    Colsaerts/Garcia to win...

    Group 4...
    Jim Furyk/Brandt Snedeker - 8/5... Tie - 11/2... Graeme McDowell/Rory McIlroy - 5/6
This is one that im struggling to chose from. The Mac Daddys should be able to blow them away on a going day, but Rory looks lost without his sweetheart next to him and G-Mac is missing that sparkle from his eye. They did go 3 up with 6 to play yesterday and looked for all money a sure fire winning start, but the Americans hang on in there after a few poor shots from us. This is a re-match of Fridays Foursomes and so will revenge be on the agenda for the yanks as they attempt to turn over the 1 hole defeat yesterday morning...I say NO...!!!

    McDowell/McIlroy to win...

Lets hope that we at least get 2 points from today's early starters as we desperately need the points. Still a bit to go but we can not go into the Singles on Sunday anything more than 2 points back... Come on Europe and come on Olly...<cheers>
