You have all said it but Dawson was a breath of fresh air in a cynical age. You could believe he would have played for us for 20 quid a week just for the crack.
I wasn't never his number fan but no1 can deny he's a model professional and gave his all in every Spurs game so for that I thank him and wish him all the best at Hull Hotspur.
One of the notable things about Dawson was how, despite all this talk of "gelling" for all the new signings last year he just absolutely hit the ground running with his Spurs career. Looked the part right from the start and frankly he very rarely let those high standards drop. Sad to see him go but maybe in Dier we have an absolute model replacement - he's also young, has hit the ground running in a big way and also looks mature beyond his years. And he cost half the price of Dawson (ten years later) AND we didn't have to buy Andy Reid at the same time! Bargain of the century! Even more reason to keep an eye on Hull and cheer them on. Good business for Hull, especially since it looks like Bruce is 9 months gone and is gonna drop a baby any minute. Must be hard doing business in his condition.
"We are Spurs reserves" No you are not. You are slowly becoming by far the 2nd greatest team, the world has ever seen.
Veljkovic may be a good option to have. He's primarily a central defender (I know you have enough of them now) though can play just as good in a defensive midfield/ central midfield role - someone to bring on when trying to retain a lead perhaps and give Jake and Tommy a break in between cups and Europa? Seems well grounded and could do with a loan move to a Prem side. Ryan Fredericks is a speedy winger-turned-full back so if you're looking for someone who can inject some pace, he could be an option. Ceballos is a promising attacking midfielder who actually had a bit of fame as a child prodigy and got to train with Ronaldinho at the Nou Camp. Admittedly he's not going to be the next big thing as the early hype suggested but he has enough talent to make it at the top tier. I'd say he's in the David Silva mould.
Hull were my 3rd team (one is non-league so doesn't count though) since the day i got Dean Windass' autograph. And because they were the team Barmby supported
a lot of players have come from non-league,and most managers, start in non league,Malcolm Allison started at Sutton!,And the current England manager at Carshalton
I'm pulling yer leg. You never know, if Sutton improve a bit and get promoted our teams might play each other. Actually, looking at it its more likely Aldershot will get relegated than Sutton promoted
