No you've really missed out here and weve been mugged off. 500K for davies is a right bargain. 13 goals in 38 games. What they didn't say about 17 of those appearances were off the bench. I think he only made 21 starts last season. A real quality player with an incredible left foot. If McInnes actually used him when he was manager he might not of been sacked and Davies would have been near the 20 mark. McDonald a 30 year old striker who will get you about 10 maybe. Or Davies.... 25 and would get you 20 if he plays. Sorry lads but you club should have really paid the extra 150k
McDonald was not playing regular at borough so I think you're under rating him at getting only 10 goals likewise over rating Davies getting us 20. If Lomas had really wanted him he would have bid £500k so he will have someone else on his radar. Good luck for getting back to the Championship
Don't Doubt Davies is a scorer and at a good age and yes we would have been happy if we'd signed him, but I'm sure lomas would have pushed the boat out more if he felt he was worth the amount city were asking, we will wait and see which ends up scoring more Shinny
Last season Mcdonald got 13 goals in 35 appearances (7 app as sub) and we got him for **** all so paying £500k for a similar striker makes no sense at all. Mcdonald also has the carrot that having a good season will get him in the Australia squad for the world cup
Well aint that just our luck we've ended up with a striker who was earning 30k a week and has a goal scoring record of 1 in little over 2 games throughout his career and cost jack all,,,,when we could have had Davies who was relegated from this league and probably only looked good cos he was in a bad side for 500k..... im gutted!!!
