Hmmmm........"11 goals in over 70 SPL appearances" aye. Hardly awe inspiring. Never heard of him and that suggests he may manage half a dozen in the same number of fixtures at Championship level. Don't want to knock someone I know nothing about, but unless we're just keen to "pad out" the squad, that sort of player is unlikely to push us on. Bristol City or Portsmouth would seem to have far more need of him than us. I'd say pass on this one.
Does he play wing or up front mainly though? 11 from 70 isn't terrible for a winger depending on his assist rate. Don't think MM's got it wrong up till now so if he see's potential in a 23 year old he's done nothing to make me doubt his judgement yet.
I'm not questioning Malky's judgement. Given what he's done for us so far, if he thinks this bloke can do a job for us, I'll go with that anyday. If he comes to us for a limited outlay, then fair enough, but the future for this 23 year old is one thing, the point is we need someone (maybe 2 or 3 in fact) who can push us on right now. If he is another Rossco in his first season, then I'll eat my words.
