It looks like Fulham are happy to let him go out on loan, he's 25, 6'3", born in Leeds and started his career at York, so might fancy a loan move back to his home area. He's on the fringes of the England squad, he's been loaned all over the place, so has 130 league games under his belt at all different levels and is quite highly regarded. http://www.football365.com/transfer-centre/7010900/JOL-WON-T-SELL-STOCKDALE
Is he the keeper who covered for Schwarzer last season? If so from what I saw on TV he looked impressive, certainly good enough for the championship.
Would be an absolute quality signing, i highly doubt we will get him i see someone like QPR going after him, main thing is whether if you was Fulham would you want one of your players going to someone in the same division? We can hope they think like me....
Fulham aren't safe enough in the Premiership Survival Stakes to be able to afford the luxury of loaning one of their quality players to a club that could well be a rival next season.
That was the reason I made the connection. The odd thing about this, is that he played well when Schwarzer was out injured last season and he's their No.2 keeper, so why would they let him go out at all? They do have two international keepers listed in their reserve squad, but neither have ever played a league game for Fulham, one is 40(Swiss) and seems to be a coach who registered as a player in case of emergencies, the other one bizarrely has 22 international caps(Philippines), but has never played in a league game at all. If it's a loan with an immediate recall option, then it probably wouldn't be considered.
stockdale is excellent. been on the fringes of the england set up as well. hadn't realised he's played for NP though, that must give us a chance at least.
I can't judge him on what I've seen because I haven't seen him play for such a long time. On reputation, I'd take him, heard good things about him. If we do take a goalie on loan, it'd need to be for the season, I think. Don't want all the messing about of last season.
I certainly agree with that. I don't think it helped at any point with all the chopping and changing - although it couldn't be helped to some extent with Mannone's injuries.
When we had Stockdale he had his floors. He shot stopping is good but his handling and catching isnt the greatest. I remember him trying to punch the ball clear and punch it onto his own crossbar
He had his floors? I know you were sponsored by Topps Tiles but I find it hard to believe your Goalkeepers were loaned out as handymen.
Floors! Floors! Ground floor perfumery, stationery and leather goods, wigs and haberdashery kitchenware and food...going up First floor telephones, gents ready-made suits, shirts, socks, ties, hats, underwear and shoes...going up Second floor carpets, travel goods and bedding, material, soft furnishings, restaurant and teas. Going down! Oh, you mean Flaws
14 games in 18 months, he didn't have a good time with us, though wasn't it him who got crippled in the DQPR game when we first got into the Championship?
Stockdale was ****e. Along with Sam Collins, Danny Coles and Stevland Angus, who all played within a couple of years of each other. Deary fookin' me, we've had some ****e players at the back.
