If there's any substance in this report, good luck to the guy. It's been obvious for some time that his days here were numbered. But hell's teeth, he helped to put us where we are today http://www.barnsley-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/reds_look_to_catch_a_fox_808077/index.shtml?
Agree with everything you say there Cromer. At his level he was excellent for us. We just moved forward so fast we left him, and several others no longer at the club, behind.
I must admit I hadn't realised our opening match this season was a 2 - 2 draw with Norwich! Good luck Foxy, you've been a faithful servant but we have outgrown you!
Are you certain about that Dave? He has not really been given any opportunity in the PL, yet how many many people have been calling for him to get the chance, as his vision and passing can be sublime? I have no idea what the reasons are for his lack of inclusions, and I guess both PL and CH has not seen what they want from him but I am still not so sure it can be said Norwich City have outgrown him.
TC - Pretty much agree with you, but as long as Fer continues in his present vein of form and remains injury free, then Fox's chances are going to be very limited - on his occasional outings under CH, he didn't make the most of his opportunities IMO. Outstanding player for the club though and played such a pivotal role in getting us promoted to the PL!!!!
Club confirms Fox to Barnsley on 93 day emergency loan! Who can remember when that used to be 3 months?
I've been a fan of David Fox since the day we signed him but the fact he's gone to Barnsley tells it's own story. Not the player he once was whether that be down to illness or whatever. Always been a good passer, someone who can dictate the pace of a game but he was not creative, as some would have you believe. Good to see him go out and play regularly though
Hope he gets a good few games. No point him sitting in our reserves, maybe he'll perform, get his fitness up and come back reinvigorated.
Good luck to Fox, one more of the clan Who helped to put us where we are, Just as for Holt, Jackson, Ward and Surman We´ve moved on just one bridge too far, But like those four he served us very well And some are still saying today, That maybe he should have been given a spell To try and play the Hughton way, I liked him too, and the way that he played And although it is just a loan, I doubt if we will see him back, I´m afraid And Championship could be his home.
