Totally agree INM, his little flicks/touches then spinning off, I'm more concerned with our Rickies lazy approach lately.. Is it me or has he started suffering from vertigo? He just does'nt seem to want to jump for any balls these last few games...

He is missing Lallana's intelligence. He was still a class act last night, although got bullied a little bit. Had Nolan not hacked Hammond down, he'd have been through on goal after Connolly's tidy back heel.

Thought Connolly was below par last night and a couple of his efforts were lazy when others were better placed, but take on board the comment of Lallana not playing as they do appear to be on the same wavelength with their movement.

We really do need an experienced and good striker some one that can play with and instead of, Ricky. While I apreciate Connolly's contribution and his experience we really do need someone else who can tuck them away as often as Ricky. Other wise they will ensure Ricky's out of the game by foul means or fair. On the premise that if you keep him quiet you keep they Saints quiet too!!

Thought Connolly had a good game last night; he didn't half put in a shift, you could see he was cream crackered when he came off. Because he hasn't scored for a while, he's just started to take wrong options due to anxiety; like any striker he thrives on goals and that's what he needs....off any part of his anatomy !!

Had a good chance at Derby from inside the 6-yard box but made a poor connection with a header when you really would have put your money on him. Still well worth his place IMO

Am reading this thread in total disbelief,,were 5 points clear at top after 12 games playing good football and top scorers and people are questioning players performance,im begining to think some people dont know a thing about football on here at all,,i know its a debatting site but come on lads get real,,who can honestly say they thought we would be in this position at beginning of season i for one was expecting mid table to just below top 6,,so enjoy the ride and stop being negative about individuals,,its a team game

    This.

Does my head in how we nit pick. I thought we proved something last night. We might be a great pretty passing side, but don't think you can rock up and bully us out of it!

Just come off another thread defending Fonte <doh>

Anyone who thinks we're gonna walk this league, we're not, this is probably the toughest league in the whole world. Not saying we can't get out of it but its going to be hard and we're going to need our share of luck with injuries etc. We've had a brilliant start but we will have our dips. NA said after WHU game: its another 3 points, we move on, analyse it and draw a blue line under it. He's a good manager and will keep the team on an even keel when we do hit those dips.

We've had a dip:2 losses and 2 draws and we're still top. Perhaps that dip was it (fingers tightly crossed)!

I haven't really seen enough of him this season to comment. I listen to the games I'm not at on the player but it never tells the whole story, neither dop highlights. You have to see for yourself the impact he is having over 90 minutes. That said, I'm not too concerned about his lack of goals. We have plenty of players all capable of scoring, he chipped in at the start of the season and gave us the start we needed and I'm sure it won't be long before he finds the back of the net again. We have twelve different goal scorers this season in all competitions so if everyone is telling me Connolly is playing well besides scoring then I'm happy with that. Heading over to my first match of the season next weekend at home to Middlesborough. You can appreciate it is a costly venture from Belfast but always worth it regardless of the result.

People are too quick to criticise, the same with Guly Do Prado. People saying he should be dropped from the squad altogether. He had big boots to fill (so to speak) stepping in for Chamberlain and although he is a different sort of player I think he has done really well too. There is a reason why Adkins continues to start him week in/week out.
