Anyone else a little bit worried after the last couple of performances, particularly last night? There's no doubt he got low confidence at the moment but a couple of things he did we're rather out of character i thought. Going for a spectacular goal when Rickie's running into the far post free on goal? Just thought in general his touch was slightly below his usual high standards. I've been saying for a couple of weeks we're maybe one quality striker away from a complete team, would you guys agree with this or?

Sorry, I don't agree at all

Connolly's been a relvelation this season, his work rate, experience and intellegence are attributes that are second to none

I dont agree either Connolly could easily have scored last night just didn't get the lucky break he needs - played better than Lambert last night

I can see what your saying, but he knows and we know he can score from there and if you dont try you dont yet you know?

He has been outstanding this season, his play is certainly more important than his goals I think

I'm not worried by his performances, not at all. But he needs a goal, and quickly. He doesn't need to score 25 goals a season, because we have Rickie who is capable of that sort of thing, but he is still a striker so for me he does he to keep his goal column ticking over - and 7 weeks without a goal, or whatever it has been, is starting to become an issue.

If Barnard had have been been available and on the bench for the whole of the season so far, I'm certain that there would have been some calls in the past fortnight for Lee to get a chance in the starting XI ahead of Connolly, due to this goal drought of his.

I thought Connolly was excellent yesterday. People read too much into goalscoring but his link up play and movement has been very good this season.

This. He's an intelligent player and his off the ball movement is spot on. If you get a chance to watch just him for 10 minutes in a match you'll see it too.

While the team are winning and everyone is pitching in with the odd goal from here or there, it's a non-issue. I hope Connolly doesn't have any thoughts or words from Adkins, of this nature, because it is the very thing that can turn a blip into a total drought. Yes, it is disappointing that Barnard isn't competing. Perhaps it's something that could be addressed in the transfer window, which is only a couple of months away, or more.

He had a great shot that was only blocked by an amazing block by Amdy Faye. His link up play is great and like Guly they have quality that few in the Championship possess. We do need a pacey striker in the squad too, but mainly because if one of our front two got injured we are struggling a bit.

When Rickie went through a period of not scoring so freely, he was still providing assists and made a contribution. It all came right for him later. It will be the same for Connolly.

The front four of Rickie, Conners, Guly and Adam are the main reasons why we are top scorers in the division, their interplay and intelligent football has been a revelation. Personally, I think that Conners is missing Adam as they have a particularly good understanding, this is not knocking Chappers (who I thought had a very good game last night) but certain players click with others better. All strikers go through 'dry spells' but I think the front four have something special together and i'm sure there will be a period when Conners scores more than Rickie, no need to change things atm as far as i'm concerned.

True he didn't have a great game yesterday but he's still a quality player. He does need a goal though.

im not concerned with conners as he is quality but i agree he had a poor game last night, having said that with a bit of luck he could well of scored more than once.

Can't believe people are saying he had a poor game!

He worked his socks off, contributed to the team effort and got involved with the chances! What more do you want??

Connolly was my MOTM on Saturday. Great game holding the ball up under lots of pressure.
I thought he wasnt that bad last night. I have no worries about conners.

For me, and its only my opinion he looked half a yard off the pace. Maybe 2 games in 4 days took its toll. Just my opinion tho!!!

No worries whatsoever. Why do people always need to find something negative to talk about. We're 5 points clear at the top, playing football of a quality and style I haven't seen Saints play since the early 80s and with a team where EVERY player is contributing something.

I thought Connolly played well last night. We need Barnard back and maybe another striker to push him for his place and provide cover, but his contribution is extremely valuable even when he's not scoring. His link-up play with the midfield and front 4 is awesome.+
