I have usually been the first to criticise Dave Kitson but since Cotterill has left he looks like a different player, and in my opinion was man of the match yesterday.

When Cotterill was here Kitson was such a frustrating player to watch, mainly due to his lack of effort. Yesterday he ran the game for me, and chased everything. He also changed the game against barnsley when he came on.

It makes me think whether he had some issues with Cotterill, this is highlighted by what he was saying in the press earlier this week:

Obviously something had gone on between the two.

It was good to see us playing 442 again yesterday, we actually looked like scoring which we never did under cotterill, the Kitson and Varney partnership worked well, but i feel, like Halford said earlier this week, we need a poacher, someone who gets into the box for tap ins. I was disappointed with Huseklepp yesterday, he has been quite quiet the last few games, he needs to become more involved as he is a threat when on the ball, i don't understand how he has become such a fan favourite when he hasn't really done much?? Surely players like Varney deserve more praise?

I think Cotterill leaving has been good for the club and i think we will continue to improve over the next few weeks.

Huseklepp needs to be played up front, playing him out wide seems a waste of good talent <ok>

True but who would you put left wing?? I would stick with varney and kitson upfront at the moment. We need to invest in some pacey wingers or at least get some in on loan, Danny Rose from spurs would be good!

I'd like to see us try Erik & Varney upfront with Lawrence/Riise/Ward on the left. I realise they're all usually right sided players, but then I'm sure Huseklepp is too? Hopefully one of the first things the new manager does is get a left-sided player in on loan. If Ole does come in, maybe we'll go for this guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petter_Vaagan_Moen

Agree that Reg Varney & Dave Kitson play well together up front, but we really do need a goal poacher.

I think Reading did well to sign Adam LeFondre from Rotherham in the Summer, but what about Jordan Rhodes of Huddersfield Town - three hat-tricks in the last five matches ? What a prospect !!

It would be great for our owners to allow the new manager to spend a few million on a player like him in the January transfer window <ok>
