Not a d bent is a twat, or bruce should have kept him thread, but i'm watching a footy show with craig burley and the once safc player don hutchinson. They are doing a review of the season and were highlighting bents form, and the lack of goals for some of the bigger clubs, and they got round to talking about, would one of the big clubs come in for bent, and if he wants to further his career he should be at one of these clubs. Can anyone see the bent one moving on again, and leaving villa in the lurch? They seemed to think it is a possibility, any thoughts...
Bent would go to Arsenal in the blink of an eye. Villa would expect ã30million at least, he'll be at Villa whether he likes it or not next year. That's my opinion.
If Arsenal, Man Utd or Chelsea (who would you have Torres or Bent?) came in for him he's be off back to London or to Utd at the drop of an Agents hat. However, if he was, I sinselrey hope the club (SAFC) were smart enough to put a sell on clause? If Villa did cash in and get that kind of money and we didnt have one, I'd expect a mass resignation amongst the hierarchy with immediate effect.
Think bent to gunners a great shout muffdiver. A focal point striker is exactly what they need to sharpen their ponderous pass pass pass approach. He'd bang em in for them
I could see him at arsenal, and he would be a huge sucess, and maybe the missing chink in their team. Fantastic to watch but no one to have a shot, and he could well be the one to give them another chance of some silverware. At what price i don't know, but carroll cost 35 million and bent is in a different class.
I'd have him at Arsenal in a flash. But I don't think we'd pay anymore that ã20m tops. Jermaine Defoe is looking to leave Spurs, he might be a cheaper option. Can't see Spurs getting more than around ã8m - ã10m for him
Sorry but don't think defoe represents the same proposition. He is a very talented but streaky striker. Bent just keeps scoring regardless of form he will find a way.... bit like a Lineker in that respect. With the creativity in your side can't believe not gone in for him before.
Bent is a far far superior goal scorer mate. He isnt a great footballer but in the whole of Europe, I dont see many better at simply sticking it in the net. It still hurts me that he has gone.
Agree - He has exactly what we lack, someone who's main priority is to simply score, instead of pass it endlessly. I just don't think we would pay what Villa would want for him. Defoe on the other hand, could be a good option at a reasonable price.
With Defoe you will be better. With Bent you could win the League. What is that worth? Bent would score 30 goals in an Arsenal shirt and at 27, he is a perfect age.
A huge Arsenal fan i am led to believe, which is one of the reasons Spuds fans didnt like him. More the fools them and Rednapp.
Judging by this he isn't going anywhere, Harry Redknapp has played down talk of Jermain Defoe heading for the Spurs exit this summer by claiming the out-of form frontman must improve to hold down a starting place. The Tottenham striker has endured a troubled season scoring only four league goals and having to settle for a place on the substitute bench. And the 28-year-old striker’s frustration has boiled over, leading him to claim he may have to consider his future at the club. But Redknapp hit back saying: “He hasn’t played enough this year because he hasn’t played well enough to play regularly. There’s no other reason. “No one has got more faith in him than I have showed. I took him to West Ham as a kid, signed him at Portsmouth and brought him back here to Tottenham. “He’s a fantastic player in my opinion but his form this year hasn’t been anywhere near what it has been in the past. “ “We want him at his best and when he’s at his best he’s a fantastic goalscorer. I don’t have a problem with him, he’s a great lad, and he trains well but apart from Wolves away where he took two great goals he’s very rarely shown the type of form that we know he is capable of. “But he’ll come back, and next year is another year. He’s an 18-20 goals a year man really not four goals a year.
Can't see him ever leaving Villa. Bãnt is one of those sort of players who is extremely loyal, and would never do anything underhand. He nails his colours to the mast. An example to all those mercenaries who are only in it for the money.
but think of all those managers daughters in the big smoke, like big chris on a rumour site, dive straight in there.
It's frightening to think what he could do with Fabregas throughballs and Wallcott crosses. Certainly a Golden Boot, or Golden Shoe (as it's now known) winner if he went to the Gooners.
