will we replace him though? Laudrup has pretty big sleeves...

Personally i thing we have, at best, a collection of high quality championship strikers (considering Michu as a CAM).

I wouldnt like to see a panic buy (K. Jones) but would like us to at least begin the search for our next striker.

Someone else has pointed out that Jones doesn't want to move here so that's that. Sky showing DG at Sunderland's training ground so that looks like it's almost done. Wish him well but he's bonkers. This leaves us very short of options up front.

Very disappointed especially if we've sold him for £5m which probably leaves us net flat after we pay out any sell-on clauses etc. Considering how woeful Schecter is we're pretty much decimated of strikers

Let's not make too much of a drama out of it if we dont get a new striker. We still have michu and Laudrup and Huw knows what they are doing.

5-5.5m sounds a million too low imo. but apparently that's the price according to Huw and Laudrup and who are we to question their judgement.

15 games to go before end of season, no fear of relegation and then ML will have a war chest of humongous proportion in the summer.

I think ML wanted him to stay also but it sounds like Danny really wanted to go, so much that he even misses a final.

Good luck to him, he did well for us so no complaints. ML and huw would only have done this deal if it was right for the club, we can sleep easy knowing that they got the clubs best intrests at heart!

There is alot more to this than meets the eye and it has been brewing for a while, the club know something we dont so no need to swear on this ;)

Time for Moore to step out from the shadows and claim is role. Whenever he has come on alongside Michu they have combined well - e.g. Arsenal.

Well i hope Laudrup has something up his sleave for final transfer day because Our other striking options are pretty poor really and if we dont get anybody in i,m going to be a bit pissed off for letting him go..

I disagree that we HAVE to sign a striker today. Even if Michu get's injured it's not the end of the world.

The best news this transfer window is that none of our main players has left. That is something to celebrate, I think ;)

We need a replacement now. Moore is crap, Itay is ****e and... that's it. We need someone half decent. They are talking of some Sengalese kid but we need someone who can step up and score now!
Like it has been mentioned; If Michu gets injured and we don't have a replacement for DG then we are screwed.
Itay is lightweight and about as likely to threaten with a goal as my (dead) granny.
Moore is decent for the sum total of 5mins per game, has no work rate and can't score. We is bolloxed unless ML get's someone good pronto!

I agree that it's not as if one of our 'main men' has gone but Michu plays better behind a front man. That's his preferred position. At the moment I only see Moore as a front man ahead of him which isn't great, even though he seems to work well with Michu.

Sunderland just confirmed Graham now a Sunderland player. £5M fee.

The club must have got something lined up. Can't see how they would have done the deal otherwise. Michu stay's fit, maybe not such a big deal, if he becomes crocked, god help!!
