He played an almost full season of football for Rangers at the age of 18, including Champions League, and handled it very well.

Kenny Dalglish was impessed and recomended him to Rafa, who shared the feeling.

Roy Hodgson said he had star quality.

He started and scored in his Scotland debut aged 18, and put in an impressive performance.

He has been compared strongly to Alan Hansen.

But his chances of Liverpool have been limit, with him mostly playing Europa games, often at left back. His Premier League debut was a very tough one.

But will Danny Wilson make it in the Liverpool team? Especially now competition is hotter with Coates, Kelly and Wisdom all hoping for the place.

I really have not seen enough him of than at LB as you pointed out. With Coates, Kelly, and Wisdom coming up this is good for him, players of equal potential and star quality that can push him to become what many touted him as, of he will buckle and be a what if.

He's in the squad to face Brighton, with any luck he'll get some time.

I haven't been impressed with what I've seen but he is young and there is no rush.

Saw a couple of games with Wilson playing and thought he done ok but he has got to get more game time
On another thread it says that Shelvey should go on loan well the same can be said for Wilson
Like mentioned he played as good as a full season for Rangers and Champions league
He defo is one for the future and i do hope he stays on LFC books he has got the drive to do better

Anyway if he is included for against Brighton he can show KK what he can do

we have only ever played him at fullback.

no one can make any judgment either way based on that

I saw him at centreback for the reserves. He looked comfortable to the point of being bored. But reserves football is rubbish so that's meaningless as well.

He put in a good shift against the Czech Republic. He made a good tackle at the end of the game, although the ref was like any other ref we've had this season and gave a penalty.

Looks good when he plays CB, has played LB a couple of games, and has struggled when played there

To be honest, I've not been impressed with Wilson but to be fair he has played as LB a few times. He is known for being a classy defender who likes to pass but he's been wasteful - although he will improve with time.

Having said that, his last performance at CB (may have been against Exeter? - not sure) and he looked solid.

I think it would be nice to see both him and Coates in defence tonight.
