Rose - Harry move was 'bold'

But Spurs youngster fully behind new regime under Villas-Boas

Danny Rose: Immediate future is up in the air upon the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas

Danny Rose suggests Tottenham have made a "pretty bold move" in sacking Harry Redknapp, but insists new boss Andre Villas-Boas has the full backing of the squad.

Former Chelsea boss Villas-Boas was revealed as Redknapp's replacement earlier this week after the 65-year-old was shown the door last month following almost four years at White Hart Lane.

Rose admits he is yet to meet his new manager, but he backs the change made by chairman Daniel Levy and is looking forward to teaming up with the Portuguese.

"It was pretty bold move by the club to sack Harry Redknapp. But the chairman's intentions are to take the club forward and everyone is fully behind him and Villas-Boas as well."
Danny Rose Quotes of the week

"It is a great appointment," he said of Villas-Boas' arrival.

"It was a pretty bold move by the club to sack Harry Redknapp. But the chairman's intentions are to take the club forward and everyone is fully behind him and Villas-Boas as well.

    'Unfortunate'

"I am pretty unfortunate not to have met him yet, but I am looking forward to going back and meeting him and getting to work with him."

Having previously agreed with Redknapp to spend next season out on loan, the managerial change leaves a cloud over Rose's immediate future.

However, the 22-year-old, who has been included in Stuart Pearce's Team GB Olympic football squad, is in no rush to press for a resolution.

"We'll see what happens when I get back," he said. "It had already been agreed last season that I could go out on loan.

"Obviously things have changed with Harry Redknapp being sacked so I will have to see what happens when I get back."

Tottenham Left Back Danny Rose Vents Frustration On Twitter, Set for Exit as Vertonghen Deal Nears Completion

    Youngster confirms exit on Twitter.

Tottenham Hotspur left back Danny Rose is on the verge of leaving the club after becoming frustrated by the lack of the first team opportunities at White Hart Lane.

Rose took to twitter to vent his frustration, tweeting: ‘Decent to see new young faces drafted into the England squad !! Looking forward to going somewhere next season and PLAYING some games !!!,’ in reference to Martin Kelly’s late England call up last night.

Rose was bombarded by responses from irritated Spurs fans and has since removed the tweet but it looks a though a move away from North London, whether on loan or permanently, is on the cards.

Rose, 21, has managed just 13 appearances for Spurs since joining in 2007, down largely to the consistency of Benoit Assou-Ekotto. He was signed as a left winger from Leeds but has since been converted to full back by Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

Tottenham are set to seal a deal for Belgian international Jan Vertonghen, who is able to play both left back and centrally.

Would be a brilliant signing but last season he started to break into the first team and seems to be highly thought of down there. Couldn't see us pulling this one off.

That's the difference though, Rose has had his chance and taken it. He is already almost certainly guaranteed to be in the match day squad now.
