    Can edit and I re arrange that sentence for you;
    Kedwell will score one goal in 15 next season. ( I'm undecided which division ) - see even at 4.30 am I can be mischievious.

    Gills4ever just does not get it. Kedwell was bought to lead the line so that the team scored goals. Of course we want him to contribute as well but that is a secondary consideration so long as the team are scoring well. Last season Gills were the leading goalscorers by some way and scored far more than in the time of Akinfenwa/Macdonald.
    Kedwell's goals per game record is better at Gills than when he was at Grays. At Wimbledon he notched 40 odd league goals in three seasons. He was considered a huge success at these clubs because the goal output of the teams was prolific.
    So if the team is short of goals with Kedwell in it by all means be critical but we should not be disturbed in any way if his own contribution is modest. we could of course, go back to a Cody Macdonald no 9, lots of goals for the individual, less goals by the team, fewer points.
    The real aim in aquiring Kedwell was to pair him with Birchall. Sadly we have never been able to assess if that works.

    Wondered if that really warranted a response Bristol <applause>, thing is with that knowledgeable football nouse you yourself spout out, i just don't think i need justify myself further...except to say...kedwell will never be what we need to achieve success, birchall if he was fit sooner would of put danny boy out of the door a lot faster...lets just wait and see who's talking goolash .:emoticon-0181-fubar

    The point i am getting at is that if you want to knock Kedwell (which may be justified) do it using the right measures. 10 years ago Andy Thomson used to rattle in the goals but he was cast aside because the team did not do well with him in it. The Kedwell situation is a mirror image of Thomson.
    I don't have any football nous at all but I try to spout the b***** obvious. If Birchall had been fit things may have been different but he would have needed a big guy alongside him doing the dirty work.

    Im with Bristol on this one. Kedwell was signed in the knowing that we would likely secure Birchall a week later, both of which had been proven at lower leagues to be able to work together to form a formiddable partnership. Unfortunately we weren't able to witness this partnership due to a lovely defender from Bromley. But like Bristol said, the amount of goals we score with Kedwell in the team is much more valuable than when he isn't in the team. As I keep trying to point out you do NOT need a 25-30 goal a season striker to get promoted out of League Two. You need a solid defence. We've had a solid defence this season and still been able to notch in the goals. Whether you like it or not, Kedwell has been a major part as to the current placing of the team in the league.

    gills4everandaday - I am sure you have a good sense of humour and will not take offence if I quote you your own words from the Youth and Experience thread, with just some minor editing and bearing in mind MA chooses to continually select Keds...

    if people want to buy him must have something about him!!

    Allen told Kent Online: "Loads of clubs have rung up about him but he is not going anywhere. He is a good player and part of our squad."

    There are quite a few of us on here that actually recognise the benefits that Kedwell brings to the team. Could that.....dare I say it.....at the risk of being shot down in flames.......be showing some football 'nouse'?????? Surely not!

    Burton backed up by Keds

    alongside

    Cody backed up by Birchall

    I think our front line might be ok for the rest of the season.
    So long as Whelps and Weston keep loading the ammo.
