I don't even think he is worth a place on the bench. He brings absolutely nothing to a premier league squad. Just before Spurs broke away and hit the post against us on Sunday, Danny Graham was standing 5 yards offside. We had the ball and had broke forward on the counter attack and the player running forward couldn't pass the ball forward because Graham wasn't onside. Graham eventually made it back into an onside position after we had lost hold of the ball. He's slow, he's always offside, he cannot head the ball, he has the weakest shot I've seen out of any striker in many a year, his awareness and ball control is poor. If we are losing a game next season, why the **** would we bring Graham on to try and change the game? He offers nothing. Will we be able to sell the useless plank?
He looks a lost soul tbh. Maybe we will see better next season, or maybe he will be moved on but we will not see a fraction of the £5m we paid for him right now so for that reason, we will have to keep him for at least another season.
Can't get over the fact he's a Mag. Add the fact he hasn't scored since he came and his movement in the last few games makes it really easy for me. Tara!
He should never have been signed in the first place. Campbell was a better option and younger. We sold him for F all and bought Graham. It was the final nail in MON's coffin for me. Now we have got to try and get rid of him.
Swansea wanted to keep him but he wanted to join us and gave up a Wembley appearance to do so. He is no better or worse than an averagely performing team than many other players so why give the lad a hard time.
Really?? Even though in our last 2 games he has looked completely disinterested?? Not good enough IMO and should be moved on
It's nothing to do with his black and white background and I have no problem with his work rate. I just don't think he is a very good player He is not alone, and I'm not making him a scape goat
Stu may very well have a good point there.Look at Grant Holt this season compared to last.We were desperately defending for half the season and as soon as we freed up he scored against both WBA and Citeh.I do hope the loony eyetie knows what he is doing. It has the look of a disaster waiting to happen to me.
In a perfect world, I would cut losses and move him on. That said, he will likely be kept for another season as a back up squad striker. I can live with this as long as we have at least Fletcher plus 1 more solid senior striker and 1 more up and coming junior added in. This way we would have the following strike force in order of preference: Fletch New solid senior striker (hopefully starting with Fletch in a 442 at least half the time). Sess (optional) New junior/Graham/Wickham (take your pick at the time). I'd love 2 more solid senior strikers, but we are unlikely to have the funds for this given our pressing needs ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE ELSE.
I think Wickham is a bigger problem than Graham, Buying wunderkind players is always high risk if they don't develop in the way that they are expected to.I think you paid Ipswich about four times what he was worth.Championship football is his level.
He gets unfair grief from us lot I think but i agree he looks like a Championship player. He was never going to work here with the boos he got when he played his last game for Swansea, no idea why MON still signed him and I feel sick everytime I hear we spent £5M on him. Decent impact sub for next year though.
Agree Campbell was the better option. But come on, we finished 17th!!! DG didn't get us in to this position alone.
Brings nothing to a premier league team?.Got double figures for Swansea season before last when he got decent service. What I would say though from looking at videos from him at Watford and Swansea he looks about a stone heavier in weight now.
