Also, I'd like to pick out another outstanding bit of Dai "logic" - if you can call it that.

"You can't go half the season without a goal."

Err, 1 in 2 is renowned as a pretty fantastic return for a PL striker. Ok, DG got 1 in 3 this season, but that's not bad for a newly promoted striker in a newly promoted team assembled on a budget with no top flight experience. Oh, and he had to play in a completely different style when compared to any he'd played before, and play on his own, whereas most strikers get a partner to help them out.

Much easier to criticise I guess.

Its a stupid way to look at it though, for example Rooney costing £981k a goal for his transfer fee, so it looks like he hasn't scored any goals before this season. His true value is about £210k a goal. RVP comes in at less than £29k a goal - bargain ;)

Isn't it mas that we consider a £29K goal a bargain lol. I could do with 5 goals, that would help me, alot lol.

Brendan would never say about Danny Graham "You can't go half the season without a goal."

He may have said something, such as we need more cutting edge up front, but you can't put words in his mouth like that. Unless of course, you can prove it by means of a link to a quote or video interview.

Dai, Yes we need additional fire power upfront. We all agree on that, now that's been sorted.. All we're saying is DG has done wonders this season. Give him credit where its due.

So where'e the link to Rodgers saying "You can't go half a season without a goal" ? If it's a "quote" you should be able to find it. The Internet is a wonderful thing. :)

Brendan is quoted as saying he will be looking for 5-6 players for next season, which Dai is quite correct in saying that is half the starting 1 b ut it is only 1/5th of the playing squad. BR never mentioned he wanted to ship out 5 players from the first 11. That tends to be what relegation threatened teams do at the end of the season. We dont have strength in depth and we certainly dont have anyone with DG workrate off the ball. Now I am no expert but I am guessing a CF that can have a strike rate of 1 goal in every 2 games or better, is gonna cost a lot more than we will pay/afford.
I think a 1 in 3 return is pretty good value for a lone striker. For me its Dyer and Sinclair that need to be chipping in with a few more goals next season.
Just one more thing to clarify. My opinion is based on what I see without glasses when I watch the games and not with rose tinted ones as you so quaintly put it. 20/20 vision is a wonderful thing and what you dont see on MOTD highlights is DG's workrate and off the ball runs which you do see when at th egame.

why would he mention danny..<doh> what manager would mentioned any of his players by name.......they would not..<ok> but when he quotes that we need to improve on finishing and he was surprised we finished where we did having gone through the season with nearly half the games without a goal. we cant let that happen next season and i want 5 or 6 new players to make us better..........now kangaroo lets hear what your interpretation of how brendan sees things......any normal fan would understand exactly what he is saying......he is happy we achieved our goal but we need improvement for next season.........i totally agree with him 100%...<ok>

That's not the point. Nobody has disagreed we need to strengthen. You said you were "quoting" Rodgers:

""You can't go half the season without a goal." ........Try our managers logic, i quoted him"

You didn't. He never said that. Ever.

Neither did he say "we need to improve on finishing". He DID say that we need to improve "in the final third" which isn't the same thing is it?

But 8 of those games we got 8 points so we got a return for our investment. And looking at the games we never scored it was closer to a third of games, out of those games we got as I said 8 points. Room for improvement yes but most of the games where we didn't score are with teams who have spend 100s of millions.

So it's your assumption that BR is talking about DG when he mentions a need to improve our cutting edge. Your opinion is that that is what BR is suggesting. If you'd mentioned at the start of your fact-less DG hate campaign that this was merely your opinion, Dai, you'd have received far less opposition. You're entitled to your opinion, however misguided, but to place imaginary words in the mouth of our manager and claim them to be fact is simply petty, and, frankly, quite immature.

you need to pay better attention to brendan's comments kangaroo, i know what he said and so do thousands of others as thats all they are talking about in the pubs and clubs of swansea. its not about just danny its about all the players but at the end of the day its danny who has the responsibility of the strikers position and im afraid his finishing is not up to standard and needs to improve....why is brendan adamant that we need 5-6 players to strengthen the team, why is he looking for a finisher better than we got.....work it out...i cannot see danny playing other than a bit part player next season unless he moves to a midfield position where he can do a good job.......we will see a few of our players dropped next season and thats the only way if we are to progress further, we cant do it with the players we have got....the main thing is goals and we have missed to many through poor finishing....brendan's quest is to fix that problem and by listening to what he is saying he will do that before we go to the US for pre season.....

That is rubbish <doh> he is a mid table striker in a mid table team, he has has scored the expected number of goals for a player in such a team. What number of goals do you expect him to score ?

I am listening to what Brendan is saying, I have watched every interview he's done in the last few weeks and don't see where he has said what you are quoting. So where has he said what you are saying ?
