Graham has taken some criticism this season, but today he scored his 100th career goal. So well done Danny, let's hope you get the next 100 during the next 3 seasons---for The Swans',of course.
Superb, Danny!! Well done and a huge well done and thank you to the lads for a FABULOUS season!!!!!!!!
Top English Scorers 1. Rooney 27 goals in 34 games 2. Holt 15 in 36 3. Graham 12 in 36 4. Sturridge 11 in 30 5. Defoe 11 in 25 Question is, could he sneak an England call up this summer???? Rooney is out for the first two games but will probably go in case England get to the latter stages. I have heard Holt being mentioned a lot and personally I think he deserves a shot, at least in one of the friendlies in the lead up to the tournament, but the main counter argument for him is that he is too old at 31. Sturridge is young and one for the future with Defoe being a very good goalscorer, when he gets the chance at spurs. So at 26 could Graham sneak in? especially with Bent being injured and the likes of Zamora and Carroll being cack! Personally I think he may get a sub call up for a pre tournament friendly and hopefully he will do enough to sneak a place
Really pleased to see Danny feature so highly in that particular list,Jack. I don't see him getting a call from Hodgson though. I hope his detractors on this Board cut him some slack, and get behind him, rather than on his back.
Graham & Fletcher finish tied for 12th amongst all players in the Premier & Graham probably finished 1st in expended energy amongst strikers in the Premier .... " Oh Danny Boy .... between the pipes were calling " ( thought I'd throw a hockey thing in there Lol )
Said it in a previous thread Danny Graham has had an outstanding season considering the role he's played for us as lone striker with a newly promoted side to one of the toughest leagues in the world.
all he had to do is tap it in how is that a good finish ??? what about the sitters he missed again...and sinclair. well it looks as if we have seen danny in his last game as the main striker now and i look forward to a better finisher next season..that has been our downfall all season.....according to Brendan...and of course the No1 Fan ..Me..
12 goals in 36 with a team in the premiership for the first time is a very good return, and 11th at the first attempt is great well done all and roll on next season
but i agree with brendan its not the odd goal here and there he is concerned about its the misses and the poor finishing is what he is really concerned about....good player and strong player but have let himself down with his finishing when he had the chance...and there were many....He will play next season but not as the main striker but probably mostly on the bench...
There is a legend in Swansea called Bob Latchford who scored less goals (per game played) in his first season with the Jacks in the top division than Mr Graham. Congrats on beating that record, Sir!
It s fair to say DG isnt alone in needing slightly better finishing, Nathen dyer was woeful in front of goal today and scott sinclair has had many moment s of madness throughout the season. All that is not for today though, we should respect the acheivements by the players just to keep us in this league, its truely massive!! Relegation would have meant the break up of this team with many players leaving including the manager, this could well by a turning point in the clubs history and every player that was on that field this season (including the likes of Lita,Jazz,Gower and Monk etc) should be thanked by us all! Im just amazed by the clubs progress these last 9ys,never thought i would see us playing total football and passing the likes of Spurs,Liverpool,Man city and Chelsea off the park and doing it on a shoe string budget, its the greatest moment in our History for me, the nest greatest moment is hopefully next season ..
A "tap in" equates to a goal. It has the same value as a 25 yard rocket. Accordingly, I don't really understand the point being made by D.G.'s No.1 protagonist, who sneers at him getting "tap ins". Andy Carroll, who cost TEN times as much, didn't even get a "tap in". One of the greatest ever goalscorers,Jimmy Greaves, scored "tap ins" for fun,and nobody criticised him for that particular hobby. The poor goalscoring record of the team as a whole, should not lie solely on Graham's shoulders. That's not fair.
make no mistake that was one hell of a finish by DG, that was so easy to blaze over but he got right on top of it and put power and accuracy on it!! DG has done incredible in his first season here, i think its his first stab at playing as a lone striker as well an d to do that in the prem league and get 12 goals is top class. We need another striker to push him though and also give us another option.
I bloody knew he'd criticize Danny, again, even though he scored a winning goal. Well done Danny. Thanks for your hard work and here's to next season.
Well done to Graham, he didn't quite get the 15 goals I thought, and predicted at the start of the season, but still a very good return for his first season at this level. I think that next season is going to be much harder, now the rot is relegated, so we will have to strengthen our front line, we need another quality striker to challenge Graham for the starting spot, and I'm sure that is a priority for Rodgers, he's no mug, and I'm sure he sees the need for that extra bit of finish in front of goal! Let's hope we get a good Borini type of striker, to help old Danny boy!...................
"all he had to do is tap it in" There speaks someone who has either (1) never played the game or (2) is just a knob. I think it's both. Well done Danny. Great finish! "Tap in". Yet more evidence you're just a troll. I don't count to 10. I just tell it like it is. Deal with it.
