Well he clearly was a dick about not being picked.

Not really a mystery to me, he obviously hasn't been good enough in training to be selected ahead of the other midfield players.

I rate Danns but he isn't very disciplined and Pearson clearly likes players who just get on with it and not take risks - Danns had an abysmal disciplinary record last season.

It was the same with Sol Bamba, he had a penchant for the extraordinary and I don't think Pearson wants that from his defenders

NP loved him last year though i thought.

This season he started off suspended (his own fault) and had to fight to win his place back. The other players hadnt played bad. I get it was frustrating but if he shut up he probably would have been put into the team instead of James (we only know james is so good as he has taken his chance) and be 1st choice now.

Perhaps both of them declined friend requests on Facebook from Nigel Pearson and, scorned, he put them on the transfer list

^ He was frozen out as something very very very clearly happened as he was dropped for poor form and then he was frozen out one day all of a sudden after a training session.

He also did an interview saying he was used to having more say into the running of a club. He was clearly a w*nker.

Danns is frozen out because he is on high wages (Sven signing so bound to be) and he is the 4th (at best) choice CM.

If hes not twice as good as DD and James, and (very likely) on double their wages, then he isn't value for money tbh. Don't blame Pearson for having the guts to deal with players on too much money.

However its not his fault he is on the wages he is, and you cant expect him to just take a pay cut either, he will be paying rent somewhere.

Kasper, Nugent, Konch will be all be on huge wages too.

^Difference with these three is they are actually quality players and we would be daft to get rid of them, certainly Kasper and Nugent. I don't put Danns quite in the same class, both value and quality wise.

Like you say though Ed, Danns ain't as good as DD and it was always gonna be him plus another. I think that with NP being such a big fan of King and James being his own signing, it was always going to be Danns who was sidelined.

Its not necessarily about ability. He was on those wages when he arrived, so more about effort. Its not his fault if he's not good enough (like downing at liverpool, he tries hard every game, its not his fault that he is signed and just not good enough). People (not you) always say they should just take a pay cut etc but people forget that people will be paying rent etc on the resources and to the standard of what they are earning.

Sure, there is clearly a problem with Pearson and some players- I can't remember any other managers cutting players out to quite the same extent Pearson seems to do, but Danns really isn't helping himself here, although he did wait until he'd run off to Huddersfield!

^ I still think villa missed a trick with him given just how atrocious there midfield is and their need for energy.

Villa were stupid and sold all their best midfielders when good offers came in, and the money's just slipped through the cracks, never to be seen again. Same as Arsenal.

Including Arsenal is a bit confusing in this context - yes they lost Nasri and Fabregas ... but they still have Cazorla, Arteta, Ramsey, Wislhire, The Ox and Arshavin ... the latter is still an incredible player in my eyes and showed glimpses of his true quality with Russia in the Eiuros ... still remember the 4 goals he got at Anfield ... I think his Arsenal career crash-dived due to Wenger's obsession with van Persie frankly ...

The fact he has gone public with this tells you all you need to know about Neil Danns.

    This.

Everything has to go through the media with him.

He'll be working on SKY as a pundit when he retires. The next Peter Beagrie.
