    Think that's a fair assessment. He looks like the kind of player who will perform better when expectations are lower. The deal was probably good for both parties - Liverpool improved their squad and Chelsea got rid of a player who will probably never be consistent and hard working enough to support a proper title challenge.

    Will be interesting to see how he copes at Liverpool next season, when the expectations will inevitably be much higher come the start of the season.

    Sturridge has traditionally only performed for half a season. Let's see how he does next year then we can judge properly.

    My view is he another good but ultimately not top class English forward like Welbeck, Defoe etc.

    Welbeck and his 11 goals in 64 games? And his mighty 1 goal this season in the PL? <doh>
