Another game that fizzled out with a splutter - pretty much on par with a lot of the games at the CCS this season.

OK, maybe just a nothing game in terms of the table, but there was no panache about this set up, no spark to ignite the blue touch paper, and in the end I was glad to make my way out and draw the curtain on what must go down as a wasted season.

You can try to justify the eighth place finish as a good job done by a management team severely hampered by cash constraints - but I don't buy that. A top 6 position was clarioned by Slade as the absolute minimum target coming into the season and it was always achievable given the very average content of the opposition in this division.

As it turned out, the first half of the season all but killed us, but lo and behold, the superb win against Brighton and some decent results just after particularly against the Wurzels away, Derby and Burnley saw more than just a glimmer - there was real hope. Then it all fell apart again for that last half dozen games under a regime that had no idea how to win a game when it mattered.

I hope to God we get someone in to shake this club up at pitch level. I don't really care if we don't do it again next year but it mustn't be at the expense of seriously average management (at best). The squad we have may not have been the best in the Championship this year but they were capable of so much more - today's game was typical of our season overall.

The decision has been made to cull Slade and I can't wait to see who we get in instead - manager, assistants and players. We need to get it right this time or we'll be playing to a half empty CCS again very early next season unless they plan to give away more tickets than they sell again.

Very lucky to draw today. Half the team were out on their feet for the last 10 minutes when Brum got stronger.

Fair play to the Brummy fans who livened up a flat CCS.

Hopefully that's ta ta to Malone. I can live in hope :emoticon-0138-think

Great to see such a full hearted performance from Ben. Was that also ta ta?
