I just thought i would start the daily thread as could not see one and just wanted to post up a horse at Ascot today Ascot 2.45 Caladonian Spring This horse is available at 12-1 , it was run last time in the Windsor castle at Royal ascot beaten down the field by Fredrick Engles. The race before that was beaten a short head and a nose into third by Eureka and before that 2 1/2 lengths by North star boy all of these performances off of level weights. At 12-1 that has to be a great bet each way but would be confident of winning. Ascot 3.20 Primivere Like the horse mentioned above has been beaten by some very talented horses like Nahrain and Theyskins Theory, unlike the above horse he is priced properly at 2-1 but still worth a bet i feel. Ascot 3.55 Keys Anyone who saw how this horse won at the weekend will know why this has to be backed as its the last chance for it to run off of a handicap mark that will rise very considerably next week due to a genuine head in the chest victory. I have backed Caladonian spring in a single and all three in a trixie, should the first not oblige i will back the other two in singles as well. Good luck all
Blue: I see you back your horses the same way i do mate If you are a trixie backer let me tell you what i also do and why: When i do a trixie, whether it be win or EW I also always do an extra EW treble. When you get the three up it makes for a great pay day mate Good luck today, i've backed CP before so will take a peek.
when i back a horse--i back a horse Today its all about the spanish,CARANBOLA and CAVALERO.It just happens to be one of the 7 languages i converse in,one of them not being bullshit, but i do understand it.
I do the very same GDC whenever the selections are short priced. I tend to back singles mainly but when the prices are short i will do a trixi or even a yankee. I chose a trixi today as Keys was so short and i would be so confident in it as a banker. I have as you have mentioned done a win trixi and also an extra treble today. I am hopeful of two winners and three is possible today but undoubtedly the first horse is the each way value at least and i have gone in quite heavy, for me anyway.
Good Luck mate, have never and will never do a yankee, all bookies will tell you it is there favourite bet mate
2.10 Ascot- HELLO GLORY 3/1- Looked really unlucky on debut, travelling really nicely and making good headway when finding no room. Had to be switched and ran on pretty well but no doubt would have gone very close in what should be a decent maiden in time. I thought Rain Dance showed signs of promise on debut and looked short of room, though looked a little green under pressure initially. I do think it will come on a great deal for that and these two can fight it out. 2.45 Ascot- ZAVIER 14/1- A Godolphin newcomer with a hugely eyecatching pedigree, and I think might rate the value against stablemate Police Force who was a second string in a hot maiden last time. Out of a dam that was half sister to the mighty Zarkava, by Shamardal. Starting out at 7f and looks set for middle distance as he progresses. Can get involved here in softish conditions that make it a bit more of a test. 3.20 Ascot- SOORAH 3/1- Has been so unlucky not to win this season, and penultimate start was just on the wrong side having won her group but being well behind the main group. Primevre to me looks pretty exposed in listed company and I fancy Soorah to travel smoothly and finally gain compensation for some terrific efforts this season. 3.55 Ascot- DOWNHILLER 28/1 e.w- Might seem a bit of an odd selection having been off the track for 807 days, but John Dunlop is pretty shrewd and will have him fit and ready to go. He seems to have his horses in good shape when they go fresh, and if this one retains his ability, he is most certainly overpriced. Has won fresh in the past and has an excellent course and distance 2nd in the form book. Dunlop wastes no time sending him back into a competitive affair.
Feeling confident my selections will do well today. Newmarket 8.10 Porgy 10/1 1pt EW 8.10 Eltheeb 9/1 1pt EW York 8.30 Thirteen Shivers (4/1 WH, will shorten) 2pts win Good luck folks
An old favourite of mine runs today and i like the look of 3 newcomers: 515 Southwell: Pobs Trophy is up in grade but may like to win after having a run a few days before hurdling as he has in the past. Guesty knows the time of day and at 28s is well worth an EW stab. 740 Newm: Sir Michael runs 2 and the outsider is getting supported early doors however i am sticking with Ryan Moore and Cops and Robbers. Nice price at 12s. 620 Chep: The Noble Ord wont have to be anything special to claim this and if the money comes (currently 16s) will be even more confident, WIN bet for me. Finally in the 130 Thirsk Mel Brittain teams up with Robert Winston and Holtby at 80s appeals as an EW proposition. Be Lucky all
Heres one for your ew trixie Border Tale 17;15 Swell BH tells me it has a chance Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV, And you think you're so clever and classless and free, But you're still ****ing peasents as far as I can see, Can you tell what it is yet ???? This goes well i hear tell
Todays selections are as follows: 2.10 Ascot - RAIN DANCE 11/2 for no other reason than Richard Hughes has opted for this as his choice, which will probably mean that Ryan Moore will win on CATERINA 2.20 Southwell - GINGERS LAD 9/2 gives weight away to Wee Ziggy here today, however, he drops down in class and his last few runs off a similar mark have hinted to me that he is more than capable of taking the honours today. 2.35 Thirsk - FIRE CRYSTAL 5/1down to the same mark as his last win at Bath and if she runs to that mark is more than capable of taking the spoils in avaerage company. 2.45 Ascot - MEHIDI 9/4 his latest outing suggested he was progressing well, and that race form is starting to prove itself with the winner COUP DE VILLE winning again and a number of other runners winning or going close. Big priced fancy for today, runs in the 3.55 Ascot is L FRANK BAUM 25/1who has been running in decent company his latest outing in the Class 2, Queen Alexandra Stakes over 2m 5f saw him finish 5th SWINGKEEL where he lead well over 3f out but faded in the final furlong, the drop in distance to 2m will suit him and a similar run today could see him run into a place and possibly win.
BH likes his one in the 1st as well but advises EW on Both, might do a GDC special on the 3 (these two plus Working class hero,(well done wayward)) Stay Frosty
Glad to hear Cyc - yeah I am in good order cheers bit busy but that is just because I am usually really lazy so shouldn't complain so much. Have to dash now hope to get on here tmz for some good racing chat . Best of luck to yourself and everyone else
