Just found this: http://www.htafc.com/page/DivisionalAttendance/0,,10312~20117,00.html which has details of every club in the leagues high, low and average attendances. I was surprised our average is only 18000 with the team playing so well, and now playing attractive football. Surely there has to be a way of getting numbers into the KC again, maybe giving tickets to school kids like we've done already this season.
Definitely and I'm surprised there hasn't been more free tickets given away to school kids or sunday league teams
It think we should be giving them to schools or sunday league teams. Especially when the away support is poor.
It would help if the away teams brought some fans with them. Luckily we have still got many big crowds to come especially away followings. Only West Ham - Leicester and Blackpool have brought anything like. So i dont think its all down to Hull City fans. More will attend if the top 6 is maintained or even the top 2 achieved.
ours is a low average , rather than somewhere between the highest n lowest , which probably suggests Away support is usually low and home support is more constant. Seems Bristol City feature a lot in teams lowest att' while its Leeds that get the most highest gates when travelling.
Agreed, and when times are hard for many people financially the club should be doing things such as this to get people to games.
Thinking on,if we did do this selfless act for the ladies, they wouldn't be able to get in for all the horny blokes buying tickets in advance
In the 60s i think the Tigers used to give free passes to the East Riding County FA and they distributed them to all the secondary schools to get the kids to attend their home games. I loved travelling by train to Paragon station with 5 or 6 of my mates. It was good marketing in those days. Get the kids going with their parents tagging along. Do they do the same thing now?.
I seem to remember they were not free but you got in for 6 pence rather than the full price for a child which was a shilling, (5 pence to the decimilised).
old money makes no sense to me , i was born in 71 so i missed it thank god . Hours of fun at the local goodie shop converting farthings into ha'peths and threepenny bits into sixpences for those older than me! madness
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html Our average is close to 19000 - had we had any sort of away support at the KC this would have been 20k - not bad IMO
Any club that relies on away support isn't worth talking about, it's a shocking argument, since they should be a bonus. There are usually only 2500 seats set aside for away fans, leaving 22.5k for City fans. How many times have we opened the North for City fans for our games? Burnley is the only one off the top of my head, and there are always massive gaps in the Upper West and South Stands, these are the ones which need filling first.
