I'll keep it short...no pun. With the news of these new deals in the last couple of days, people (especially on here seem to be getting the buzz back) along with numerous rumours about players, things seem to be heading the right way. Now the question. Is this enough to fill the stadium, or will some still hold back? Some will say they ain't bothered, but ES wants a full stadium, and that ultimately rests on the shoulders of MoN and the players. Results put bums on seats, just like they sell shirts and win new fans.
Well season tickets are the highest since 2007 so its a good indicator. I also think the new South stand singing section will turn out to be a good move. Full house for Reading and it'll go from there depending on results
The new South stand singing section will turn out to be a good move ? ....Apologies for my ignorance, please enlighten me buddy !
Think they're moving the away fans out of the area behind the South Stand goal. It will improve the look of the place on TV when we have all those empty seats for segregation and also those clubs who don't bring many fans with them.
I wish our stands had names rather than geographical identities, why didn't we keep the Roker end, etc? Failing that name them after great players? Failing that name them after the highest bidder, failing that See if Fat Mike wants another Sports Direct stadium However we should give them more identity!
Niall Quinn stand Bob Murray stand The 73 stand Whoever pays the most money stand People would still say which one is that?
I dont understand these empty seats for away fans though. Surely for Wigan they will give them 300 seats and make sure our Support gets the rest, Newcastle will fill out 4-5000 easily but its pointless giving wigan that many = lots of empty seats. I know its not just the away fans that make us not fill it, but pretty sure it goes some way to denting the figure.
The club were right to move the away supporters cos it looks awful for 15 of the 19 games. What's going to happen though is that the same problem will now happen at the front of the north stand because people don't want to sit under the away fans and get pelted with piss and coins.
U beat me to it pal. Im not a season ticket holder as i work sundays so wud miss a fair few games but when i go on a saturday i always book my seat in the north stand. Something which i am probably going to change now. Also does anyone know if the dug outs will be changed around as the south stand is now the home end and vice versa. Will we kick the other way now as we always kicked towards the south stand first half. Ps apologies for grammer im posting this on my phone.
Think your wrong there like, apart from the cup we have won nowt substantial in my life time, i reckon its your dad and family that give you the urge, but to be a top 4 would be wonderful.
But am i wrong Rog? Have we actually won new fans that may have gone in another direction? We are born with this... But thankfully with the likes of yourself, we can try and expand the name of the club.......This is also ES dream, but youlads are one step ahead of him, and in touch with the real world rather than a propaganda motive.
Back in the day, Sunderland were guaranteed a crowd of around 45-50thou each home game. but then supporters could choose their games without having to lay out for season tickets. I don't want to go down the current employment/cost road except to say that if their is good fare on offer then folks will turn up. Laying out good money for what has been offered the past few seasons would be a no-brainer. The floating supporter is the key.
