depending on your age the older folks will have a bigger choice, but who is the best or at least your favorite player that you have seen to have crossed the north east divide and played for both safc and nufc. there have been many, and many famous names len shackleton etc, if i had been a bit older or a better memory i would have said bryan pop robson, but a bit young to really comment on him to much, standing in the roker end as a kid wasnt really the best place to fully observe a match so for me its paul bracewell, although i used to love lionel perez truly nerve racking

I remember watching Jim Baxter - he used to flow over the ground rather than run - the only problem was when he was with us his beer belly was 2 foot ahead of his feet, but he was still class.
Stan Anderson was in my opinion the best player to cross the divide, managed to get both clubs promoted. Jim Baxters gut may have been 2 feet in front of him, his football brain was 2 moves ahead of all the other Sunderland players during a game. no wonder we got nowhere.
