Last Thursday night Pompey Ladies took part in the Crossbar Challenge! Check it out, also a good way to get to know the team as they introduce themselves before they take their kick!
Well, you'll have picked a good time! Next Sunday is a massive game for Pompey as they're in the 3rd round of the FA CUP at home to Lewes, which weather permitting will hopefully be at Westleigh Park in Havant. Get through this and they could potentially face a WSL2 side in the 4th round (I'd like Doncaster Belles). Get through that and in the 5th round we could potentially play a glamour tie against some of the big guns of Women's Football: Arsenal, Chelsea, Birmingham, Liverpool, etc.
Just FYI, the match tomorrow is taking place on a 3G pitch at Furze Lane, which is part of Portsmouth University. Come along, you know you want to!
Nooooooooo. In our three matches so far this season it's finished 2-1 to Lewes, 1-0 to Lewes and 5-1 to Pompey. All three games it sounded like Pompey played well (although I personally only saw the 1-0 to Lewes) but were just very unlucky in the two defeats. So it certainly won't be 17-0 (unfortunately ), however we do play Basingstoke next week so there might quite a few goals in that one!
What standard are they, Lapras ? Are we good enough to beat either of them to progress further in the Cup ?
As it turns out, we got Crystal Palace. They're a league below us, but they seem to have a decent record, and defeated Derby 2-0 who are mid-table in the WPL North, the equivalent league to us, so I think it'll be a very tough game and we cannot get even slightly complacent because they're in a lower league.
