One of the problems with the way you've been posting - apart from confusing Allah with the Prophet Mohammed - is that you seem to think that the latter possibly marrying a 9 year old in 625 AD somehow equates to a general belief that sex with girls that young is part of current muslim religious belief / doctrine ... The (Christian) English King, Richard II married a girl who was 6 or 7 in the 1300s (although the marriage was not consummated) ... but nobody would start referencing Richard II in terms of defending / exposing grooming by white Christians etc ... Further, there are many Islamic scholars who question the real age of the wife often quoted by those having a pop ... Now I've no idea about what the real facts / truth is ... but one thing I am certain about is that child sexual exploitation in this day and age has to be stamped out completely and absolutely...
Got to know a bit about him in history - it was apparently a strategic marriage to stop a war and it was documented that he was in fact more of a father figure and she married someone else when she was 15 or 16 - but nothing could have stopped him if he had wanted to - being married would have given him carte blanche ...

Agree Bobby - obviously it's not a foolproof deterrent as these latest two in China demonstrate ... but I think it might deter some and, whilst it might seem harsh, it stops them being a drain on a society that they have forfeited any right to belong to ...
Wow the Chinese don't hang about. I think the only thing with todays guilty plea is although it saves people having to give evidence, which is great, it also means we will not get a lot of answers to questions, but regardless, people will still ask questions, because they will want answers on why certain decisions were made, by the police and by the politicians, understanding gives education, it also helps to dispel myths.
Sounds like they weren't going to enter any sort of defence at the trial and weren't gonna call any mental health experts so clearly weren't taking that route. Seems bizarre that guilty plea wasn't entered earlier. Good news that the families don't have to go through the trial process and hopefully a whole life sentence will be issued. Interesting that he was referred to prevent multiple times due to his fascination with violence. Without knowing details sounds like he should have been monitored more closely than he clearly was.
What I would really like to see; something that I feel would go a long way to countering a lot of negative opinion and growing Islamaphobia (no point sugar coating it - it's happening) is to see a / some senior Cleric / Scholar / Imams publicly attest that acts like the Southport killings are never 'Jihad' but instead are completely abhorrent to and against Islamic belief and that anyone committing such heinous acts is not on a path to any kind of 'martyrdom' but rather, is on the road to eternal damnation ... That would not only deflate the claims of the haters but would also give this particular scumbag the realisation that not just the rest of his life, but also any afterlife, are completely ****ed...
From what little I understand, he's not been talking when appearing in court, I don't know if he's been talking at all, even to the police. I think this is the first time they've had words out of him, even then I think his barrister had to intervene with him. Hence the judge initially had no option but to pass the plea of not guilty on his behalf.
I've got the sense of feeling, after reading what Libby wrote and what I already knew, which was very little, that this guy was hell bent on violence and any excuse would do. Sadly he chose a banned manual and speculation, assumptions, grew from that. Which makes me ask was he even religious. It's like me turning psycho and having the bible in my bag...and then refering to the bible as my excuse....when in fact the bible had nowt to do with it, I hadn't even read it!
Not sure about this. I understand the sentiment but I think this sort of idea just feeds into the myth that it's a Muslim problem rather than an evil **** problem. Never seem to see this sort of thing suggested for other groups.

Yeah seems a mental not guilty plea that. Should increase his sentence when found guilty though so will regret that.
He's being sentenced on Thursday, he's already been told it's an automatic life sentence. I expect the sentence will tell us the minimum term he must serve.
I was hoping it'd be whole life terms but according to the beeb those can't be issued to people under 21. Seems mental he could get 13 life sentences but feasibly not actually spend the rest of his life in prison.
I was thinking he may get 40+ years, don't know why I think that or what the actual rules are. Think I must have seen 40 years before, but they would probably have been older people.
