Stokes and McCullum 100% winning start playing unbelievable cricket and chasing down nigh on impossible targets every game. White ball since Buttler and the other chap took charge 100% losing start and not looking like we can spell bat yet alone use one ! Very strange scenario
England fighting back in 2nd ODI at Lords........ Initially 247 looked a bit lightweight but India reduced to 140/8 from 35 overs
Would be appreciated if England can wrap this one up quickly as there's an hour or so of the golf to watch.....
Great bowling comeback from England after another below par batting display. Excellent late runs from Willey and bowled really well. Superb from Topley, best England figures at Lords. Hopefully that gives him huge confidence going forward !
First Morgan now Stokes. Hardly bowled at all in white cricket recently, but our batting is looking decidedly weaker.
Too hot for a few of the punters at the ODI in Durham, leaving the ground. SA well placed for close to 400.
SA total less than I was expecting, all to play for. The cricket in the last few overs was horrible to watch though.
Roy scratching around again. Should have been left out really. Let's hope he plays himself into form.
Now Ali slogs up in the air. Our white ball cricket has completely turned to crap since Morgan retired and Buttler took over. Early days I know, but Buttler doesn't strike me as particularly inspirational.
I think Buttler cam be inspirational, whether he's as good a motivator or man manager as Morgan I doubt. Early days and no doubt a ton of pressure on him, where can he take the team ? Morgan came in and completely turned around our style and thought process into an all out attack minded one. Buttler has to copy that and maintain it or better it, not sure uts completely doable without Morgan and Stokes in the batting line up. Livingstone just seems to want to slog every ball for 6 at the moment, he's way better than that, similar to Stokes in the Tests recently. I'm not sure whether the guy overseeing the white ball format is the right guy either , only time will tell. Obviously the Stokes/ McCullum partnership looks like it was made in heaven, hopefully this partnership will come to fruition in time also !
Well I once heard John Mcgovern say that Peter Taylor did all the man management with the Forest players and was the motivator in the training sessions while Cloughie inspired them all to dream they could be the best team in Europe ! Possibly why Cloughie was so poor without Taylor, so I guess it is possible .
