Looks like PJ has found a real gem in Aaron Cresswell. My only worry is that if he continues to play the way he is how long will it be before premier league teams become interested?
Good left sided players are normally hard to find and this lad looks like a decent left back who could be transformed into a lethal winger too.
If we were to sell him in the next couple of years I would be way more pissed than the sale of Wickham. He has already shown in his short time here that he is up to the job on a regular basis and will only get better as he learns the Championship. Connor, in comparison, showed flashes of what he's about but not consistently.
Unfortunately if we don't get promotion or at least challenge at the right end of the table it will always be difficult for us to keep our best players. Even if we are in a position where we don't need to sell, players want to play at the highest level and we can't really say no if they want to move on, a la McCauley.
With Tranmere getting 20% of his next transfer fee (a lot if you ask me), I would rather we kept him until he was worth nothing again, (say 15 years lol)

    What do you think?

I would like to think we would keep hold of him for at least another season or two. That said, some young players never really fulfil their potential (or hype) so I think we'll have to wait and see how Cresswell develops.

Its hard to say really. All players want to turn out at the highest level so until we are a premier league club then we are always likely to be a springboard on to better things (or with the age of half our team a stop off on a downward spiral) Unfortunately the alternative is only buying average players so nobody will ever be interested in them. keane tried that route and look where that got us!
Players control their own destiny so the only thing we can really hope for is that our club can match a players ambition BUT then you get the likes of Dorris who would rather move to a club which has been on the brink for the last few years as they will offer more wages, which is why they were in trouble to begin with!! Unfortunately most footballers seem to be extremely thick so unless you can combine chucking stupid money at them with being in the top league then you are always likely to succomb to them wanting to leave
