Credit where its due thought the lad played well today, ill hold my hands up and say i didn't think he would be a starter but if he keeps playing like that then he will start more than he doesn't. Well done jidda lets keep it up!!
It was an excellent debut and the good thing is that it's not like he was playing out of his skin, I think we can expect that and more every week. Great to have some pace in the side, he might turn out to be a real bargain.
The fact he is genuinely 2-footed makes him much more potent with his pace. Defenders don't know which side of them he's going to try and go down making it way more difficult to defend against. He has a good touch and looks like he rads the game well. Get him fit and up to speed, with others playing well around him and should be a good bit of business. Let's not expect too much too early though, as you know what happens then....everyone will be on his back.

Now, don’t expect it every week – £2.5m. “People pay £30m and £40m and £50m – we paid £2.5m, so let’s be patient. “But he showed yesterday why he is here and that makes me very happy.” The head coach added: “He is very quiet, shy, but when he is on the pitch and he’s got the chance to attack you, he’s a nightmare. “He is confident with the position that we play him, he knows what we want from him. “He doesn’t need to make too many decisions, apart from doing what he does best and being in position.” http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/sunderland-afc/gus-now-that-s-why-i-pursued-buckley-1-6803256
For me he is the most exciting out of all the signing. A 2 footed player with real pace, we have not had one of those for a long time. We have a tradition of finding gems in the lower leagues (skp) lets hope he is the next one.
Buckley did very well yesterday, I like him,the type of winger that runs at defenders, instead of cutting inside and passing it square it gives us great width, just get Wickham in the middle.
He deserves to keep his place in the team, Fletch out and a front line of Jonners, Whicks and Bucks will be very exciting.
