he isnt very technically gifted. he scored a lot of goals but his goals to chances ratio must be poor. the amount of times ive seen him play where he gets the ball in a really good position and doesnt finish is very high, compared to rickie who seems to score 95% of his.
We were only interested when we thought we could get him for a lot less than he eventually went for. We never got to the stage of actually talking to him. For what it's worth, we could pick up someone low on confidence pretty cheaply and turn them around. Adkins is good at that and it would save us a lot of money.
Reminds me of Andy Cole. Not a great finisher but scores loads due to the sheer number of chances made both for him and by him. Brighton aren't creating chances for him at present, hence no goals. Now, stick him alongside a great front man who could hold it up and play him in and I think he'd be a shoe in at this level.
Possibly, but Saints have 3 players like that already, Connolly, Barnard, and most importantly, Guly, who has fitted into that role amazingly well in the last few games. Why would we want yet another, who IMHO isn't as good as any of these?
Yeah agreed Chilco. Was just talking about him generally really. I certainly don't think he's the "big" signing on the horizon as he wouldn't have a snowballs in the Prem.
Really? I would have put them nearly at the opposite end of the striker spectrum. Cole had beautiful movement, good first touch and could finish with either foot and his head. CMS runs around a lot, runs around a bit more and then runs a bit more. Last season was his best and will remain his best for his career I think. Everything fell for him, goals were going in off his arse. He probably will end up between 12 and 15 goals tops in the Championship, he won't get 20+.
