Prediction League CPL - Tables

Morning all, plenty of chances for points yesterday, as the home win was expected ( although not 3-2, unless you were Munky), both shots on and corners were manageable, and three likely goalscorers kindly obliged. Most took up the opportunity to score well, and in the A-League joint top scorers with 25 pts were, cardinalcanary and Dangerous Marsupial, in the B-League top scorer was WareCanary with 16 pts, so well done to them.

Slumping to midtable!

Only a fairly minor slump Sir, still time for it to be unslumped.

 

Don't want to be a moaning minnie or anything RBF, but how on earth was I not the top scorer last week? I nailed the scoreline and first goalscorer bang on, and even used my joker for the first scorer!

Not entirely sure how the scoring works these days, but I'd have thought the scoreline and first scorer would be the nuts and bolts of any prediction league and be worth the most points - or am I wrong?

(edit: Just had a look at the scoring system to discover you score just as many points for guessing number of shots/corners/possession as you do for predicting the correct scoreline and first scorer, which seems a bit odd to me as surely they are purely a bit of random guesswork, whereas there should be at least a bit of skill in predicting the score/first scorer - or maybe it's just me?)

 

Sorry Munky, but the scoring system was arranged the way it was so as to give both the A-Leaguer´s and the B-League´s the possibility of scoring the same amount of points each week. Can´t honestly see that there´s any more random guesswork involved with predicting shots on and corners etc, than there is in predicting the HT/FT score or 1st scorer, in fact I´d say getting regularly close to the shots on and corners, actually takes more skill than the other. You´re right you did nail the scoreline and the 1st scorer with joker, but Ware also jokered Hooper as 1st scorer, and he used his second joker on a FT win for City, and he predicted a HT win for City too, so he just pipped you by one.
