A disappointingly scrappy affair played out in a rather surreal funereal-like atmosphere with a 'crowd' of less than 2000. We all breathed a sigh of relief at the quarter hour mark when we had not conceded any sloppy goals. We then picked up on a couple of mistakes from their back four and should have gone ahead but unfortunately both chances fell to Mendez-Laing who was absolutely awful (perhaps injured or not feeling well?) and he was substituted before half time. There was not much sign of the interplay between Taylor and Eaves that did for Notts County and Parry and Storey were both disappointing. Coventry looked a shadow of the side that gave us the run-around early this season and, despite a far few corners from them, we did have
the best of the chances in the second half (Eaves should have scored from a lovely Woods cross) and we forced a good save from their keeper late on.
I cannot remember Anyon having to make a save but he does need to improve his kicking. Hall and Macallister had some success in midfield and I would make the latter my Man of the Match as he put in a real shift. The very young -looking ref (D. Deadman) outperformed all the players and never put a foot wrong all game.
I would have been happy with a point before the game but the way it went it feels more like two points lost than one gained. I really cannot see us getting anything at Wolves so that makes the next home match against Bristol City even more important. If Eaves is out we should have an extended look at Atajic who looked to have a good touch around the box when he came on - we really do need to work on that final ball and our crossing.

Good write up, it sounded a good game on the radio and looks like another game where many chances were missed - the story of this and last season.

Let's hope that we start getting the points over the next few games to take us out of the bottom 5 to 6 teams and as Cap'n Jack Sparrow as posted on anther thread increase our points per game.

This is only a good point if we go on and win our 2 home games. Good to hear Deadly Deadman had a reasonable match for a change.
