    Reality
After living in Lala land for the past year, we are now experiencing again the real, harsh reality of life in the English second division.
The good news is, the club is in much better shape than when we were last here, with a new ground on the way and a manager who knows what he is doing.
Now if we can get the businessmen to actually listen to him we will make a real fist of it

He's also on the front page of the BBC Football webpage
Have to say I totally agree with him. The window should be shut before the season starts. End of.

I can understand why Cotterill is pissed off, because this isn't new information. You could ask literally any football fan about the money in the Championship, parachute payments, and the kind of budgeting you need to make to survive in this league, and they'll tell you the exact same thing.

This league is full of big teams. It's also full of smaller teams with a lot of money to throw around. The board didn't seem to realise this, and ultimately we've paid the price by being left behind.

I like to tout the idea of buying abroad a lot, but the fact is that this idea is one that Championship clubs have already latched onto. Look at any of the top scorers in any of the second division sides around the world. If they've not been picked up by a top division side in their own country they've been signed by a Championship side. There are a few players out there, but we're largely too late on that front too!

Let's be frank. Cotterill achieved the minimum last season by getting us back where we belong. Cotterill is pissed off now because this is where he'll be judged, but he's not being given a fair crack at achieving on a level playing field to the rest of the teams in this division. Unlike McInnes and SOD before him, he didn't have a higher-level reputation, so if he leaves us he won't get a job in the Championship. It's back down to League 1 with him. The board have failed him, and ultimately it means that Cotterill could fail us by taking us back down to League 1. He can't walk because it doesn't put him in a better position. All he can do is vent his frustrations.

    Oh, he can definitely walk
Just hope our board's amateur approach doesn't entice him into it

I know it's all history now but I have always had some questions as to what happened during the brief stay of Steve Coppell. Regrettably it appears that some of those background and behind closed doors problems could still be lingering around Ashton Gate and it's time we grew up and threw them out.

Basically we need to get some balls and man up, otherwise we will suffocate ourselves on our own lack of attention, and acceptance of, the new details and rules in our new home. It has much higher requirements than where we spent last season and until we realise what is needed then we could struggle, and we all know where that road leads don't we?

We could be approaching choppy waters, but some business acumen and acceptance of the operating conditions could save us from ourselves.

Not saying he will, just that it is not impossible
Its the buffoons in the board room that are the liability, but I think even they realise how good Cotterill actually is

I am I the only one getting a little tired of SC's public rants? The transfer window has been around for more than long enough for managers to be used to it by now, and I believe some managers genuinely perceive it as the reason they haven't done well in the transfer market . I would rather SC kept quiet and cracked on with the job in hand, no-one needs their dirty laundry aired in public all the time!!

When has he ever said anything sensible?

This was edited because I originally replied when I was fully loaded on Peroni. I have no idea what I tried saying!

    As it should be then

Except that is not the case.
Cotts is livid because he cares about his work and wants the best for the fans. A spanner has been thrown in the works by the business arrogantly thinking they suddenly know more about the football than the guy they hired to take them there. Whoever froze in the headlights back in May when Cotterill recommended strengthening, that person is the reason for Cotterill's anger and our season to come…

It could have been soooooo much better

The current score from BS3 is not looking too good but you never know do you? Something is happening at our club and as much as I want to stay on the positive side of the fence I am having difficulty understanding who is pulling the strings. If SC doesn't have a say in what strings need pulling or changing then I can understand why he is in such a moaning mood.
